99.8% survival rate isn't something to be scared of unless your older than 70 or have a pre-existing condition. For non impacted groups the survival rate is over 99.9%.

Poor example on the Spanish flu, higher mortality rate and much higher across all demographics including children. Spanish flu killed 3% of the population in 1918. If covid was comparable we would see 234,000,000 deaths.

What is this thread about again?
If they had the science and the aggressive approach we have had to date including all mandates then their death rates may have been proportionally low.

They were incredibly far less informed back then than we are today. Today it is only a minority of those that are either ignorant to the dangers or that care nothing about others that continue to put others in danger today than they experienced back then.

Of course 3% of the population died, medicine and health care was nowhere near what it is now and the human race, through vaccinations or basic evolution, become immune to things that would have killed people 100's of years ago.

The thing that irritates me, is that a large portion of the population use the excuse that it heavily affects the older generation as if that somehow makes it okay.

As a 29 year old man, sure I'm confident I'll get over Covid if I got it, however I don't think it's fair that some idiot who doesn't take it seriously, could potentially give me the virus and I accidentally pass it to my "At-risk loved ones," not knowing I had it due to being asymptomatic.

Thats the truly selfish part.
Absolutely! That's the whole point. We know what we can do to protect others, and ourselves, but some people refuse to do what is best for others because it infringes on what they think of as their personal freedom. It is the ultimate of egocentricity.

Covid had a 99% survival rate without any medical intervention. They’re not the same which is why it was dumb of AG to compare the two.

Deaths year over year have not increased outside of expected annual levels.

The selfish part is expecting everyone to live a certain way that you feel is best. If your afraid of it stay inside.

My dad had it, my brother had it. I’ve seen it’s impacts with people I employ and in-fact lost a employee that caught it. It’s real, but you should take precautions that suit you and stop forcing others to live the way you feel best.

I’m pissed that so many have thrown freedom to the side and it’s destroyed people lives by shutting down the economy and churches... I had to lay-off 400 folks last year because of restricting business here in CA.

The Saints are 0-42 when running the ball less than 15 times in a game.

And there you have it - the position of moral superiority. Those who disagree with you are morally inferior.

It's why I take issue with your stance, and not Rugby's. Rugby seems sincere and humble. I think people are more than willing to listen to him.

But, I admit I am biased because I have seen how you adopt the cheaper tactics that are utilized in our society today. To be more specific, when I first came to this site you tried to label me as a "racist" without any basis for that smear whatsoever.

You were not successful, at least in part because the members of this board are familiar with how you can be -- at your worst. That's not to say that you are totally without redeeming qualities, but I think you have to realize you can get carried away.

You made those allegations publicly, so I think a public apology is overdue. Admittedly that takes some courage, so we will see if you are up to that.

Good video, matches my thoughts also. And agreed, lol, it’s best for me to let my commentary on this topic die now, or move elsewhere, and go back to Saints being the soup du jour.

That was great and sums up my position on this insanity quite well. People should watch this and gain some perspective but would likely find a way to cast shame on all who think this way.

I agree the reaction to COVID was largely overreach. I agree the economy was destroyed for political gain. I agree vulnerable people should be protected and use extreme caution (more so than 99% of others).

But the selfish part is knowing you're more likely to control something by wearing a mask yet still refuse to wear one in CONFINED, PUBLIC places.

Look, I'm pissed about everything you laid out and I feel our leadership is inept and corrupt. But I'm required to be out there to support my family. My wife is immunocompromised. We HAVE to take extreme caution while supporting our businesses, children and loved ones.

So, if not for you - maybe you'd be ok with doing it for us. At the very least, while you're around other people. Is that eroding your ability to be a free American?

That's a good video.

Do I think wearing a mask is going to prevent me from getting the virus? Not really, I don't think the science on that is clear at all.

Will I wear a mask when I enter into a public area such as a grocery store? Yes, simply because there may be a little old lady in there who watches CNN, is legitimately scared and I don't want to contribute to a bad experience for her.

But, they are not, for example, required at my gym and I don't wear one there.

More importantly, I think it is important to realize that we are living in a strange time when there are people who have bought into the idea that they need to go all "Karen" on everyone around them -- many of the same people who are itching to go off on someone for not wearing a mask are the same ones who want to destroy people for not adhering to the tenets of the Church of Woke.

We have to get through this hysteria as quickly as possible - and that means not taking any **** off of the woke.
