Mask wearing isn’t a joke. I work with a team of 12. 7 out of the 12 refuse or have to be constantly told to put on a mask or wear them properly ( you know, the chin strap people). As of right now, those 7 are all out quarantined having tested positive for Covid. Ironic isn’t it. Now the 5 of us including myself have negative tests. And out of us 5, I probably wouldn’t be able to recognize the others out in public because we wear our masks religiously.

Good for you man. I've had Covid. None of my family got it. I don't wear a mask at work. Or at the store. I only wear it when required. I wash my hands a lot and keep my distance. I'm not going to wear a mask for all of eternity because I'm scared of the flu.

I don't have a problem with people wearing a mask. But some of this is out of control. When media and government has people so hypnotized and manipulated that they're wearing masks in a car by themselves, while riding a bike or taking a walk, while standing outside in their own front yard, there's an issue.

Went to Red Robin the other day. Had to wear a mask until I got to my table. Lol. How ridiculous. What's the point?

Just like the coaches and players on the sideline wearing mask. Lol. Then they go play football without them. It's stupid dude.

People are either so manipulated that they don't ask questions. Or they're so ****ing scared of being shunned by society, that they keep they're mouth shut.

I understand there is an application for masks. But it's being over used and over embellished. Just my opinion.

Thank you! I know several people that have contracted COVID and every one of them either didn't consistently wear a mask or were in contact with someone at home that didn't. Wearing a mask is only a joke to those too ignorant to understand the safety aspects for the wearer and others.

Mask, No Mask.

I am 68 and took being at risk seriously. Was sent home to work almost a year ago. In my case wearing a mask and following all the protocols did not work.

My wife and I ALWAYS wore a mask and not under the nose either, we WORE IT. Maintained the 6' distance used hand cleaner after leaving any public establishment. The only time we went without a mask was when we went out or were with our daughter. Thankfully neither contracted it.

Ditto. And continuing to do the same today.

It was less than a year ago that the same experts who are now telling people to wear two masks were telling people that not only was wearing a mask not effective, but that it was actually dangerous.

Now some of those experts are telling the public that they intend on scheduling the vaccination of children (which is hardly following the science).

Experts told the public that it was okay for people to assemble in mass if it was for the correct political protests.

Certain states have mandated such arbitrary restrictions as limiting travel within the state, effectively prohibiting people from living the densely populated areas for homes they own in isolated rural areas. And told people that they had to limit the number of people on a boat to four, even if the fifth person would be someone who lives in the same home.

The point is -- there are legitimate reasons why people do not trust what they are told about this damn virus, so you may want to rethink whether people are "too ignorant to understand" or whether those who control the narrative have lost credibility.

Considering my wife was in charge of infection control at a major hospital system and has ongoing communications with many very much "in the know", I'll trust the sources I know that know best.

Interesting. I already knew that, although not a lawyer, she is a legal expert.

In any event, I am glad for you to wear a mask -- or not wear a mask. The point is that other people may have wives who tell them to do something different than what yours tells you. I don't feel the need to say they are "too ignorant to understand."

Yes. She tired of the hospital administrative side of things and switched sides and has dealt with doctors and hospitals as a malpractice claims adjuster for well over a decade now. She works with lawyers on a daily basis now. She keeps her certification active, however, as a registered nurse.

As far as being too ignorant to understand ... I'll stick with that. Being stupid and ignorant are two completely different things. You can be ignorant of certain facts regardless of how intelligent you may be. The fact is that wearing a mask gives the wearer a certain degree of protection against COVID. It is also a fact that wearing a mask gives a great deal of resistance to spreading the virus as an active carrier. The combination of the two, along with proper distancing, makes the transference of the virus extremely unlikely. Whereas, the absence of all three creates an atmosphere where transferring the virus is quite likely.

While ignorance is bad, the knowing refusal of one to protect themselves and others is far worse. Sad.
