Re: I'd like to try and get Derek Carr
So far, it's already looking like LV and NO have agreed (or close) to compensation for Carr via trade.
Anything higher than a 3rd rounder is foolish. Maybe the Raiders eat some of his salary ? After how the Ceedy trade went down, I simply have no idea how this will turn out. I'd prefer a young QB on a rookie contract. I'm just a couch GM though |

Then it's a win/win for all. If Carr blossoms, he gets a new contract in year 2-3. He he doesn't we hopefully have a young QB or two on a rookie contract.
We could bring Bridgewater back to do the same thing for less $. | |

Re: I'd like to try and get Derek Carr
I agree that a 3rd would be a steal for what could be a franchise QB for the next seven or eight years. Although, I'd pass on any earlier round QB and just pick up one later hoping we can get a backup type that may eventually develop into something more ... possibly future trade bait much like the Patriots did for years under Brady.

Re: I'd like to try and get Derek Carr
Basically, it boils down to if we want Derek Carr we are either going to give up draft capital and/or spend in free agency. I'm not willing to spend money or invest high draft capital in him. Take that draft pick and find a quarterback or two on a rookie contract so we can get under the cap.
