If Saints decide to pursue him, they better not trade for him. In two weeks he'll get cut anyway. | |

Well, we'll see if we get permission to talk to Carr. It may take a trade to get him. If there is enough interest he may not last to the point to be cut.

![]() There is no team in the league that is dumb enough to bite on a trade. As someone else posted, it's time to get busy in the draft and find your next QB. The Saints are years away from seriously competing. |

That said he would be an upgrade over anyone we have right now. Dalton should be a backup. And JW will probably be let go. If they wanna roll the dice this next season and see if JW, Dalton or Hill can command the offense then fine. But don’t overpay for a guy that is probably gonna get cut in the first place. |

Re: I'd like to try and get Derek Carr
Let’s try to find the next QB of the future. Even if he sits a year. Brees was absolutely perfect. But we ain’t gonna get that with anyone we have now.

I wait til he's cut. I really don't want to lose any more picks. I would like to see him here but I wouldn't break the bank to get him here.

Re: I'd like to try and get Derek Carr
He'll probably get cut and run around $40 million per year. They can structure a contract to put that first year near league minimum plus a bit and go out and fill a couple of other holes and then fill in with the draft and be able to compete right away. As Underhill and Triplett discussed, the Saints would automatically be the favorites to win the division if we could land Carr and be in position to win some games in the playoffs.
