Yep. The QB profession is just trying to increase their profile and leverage. Kind of like the TE-needs-to-be-paid-like-WR phenomenon a few years back. The market will settle on a middle ground, just don't expect all these shocking QB movements.

According to Pat Kirwan it won't even happen privately. Kirwan said this afternoon on his show, Moving the Chains, that he very recently had a private conversation with Wilson (probably in Tampa this past weekend) and this so called news couldn't be future from the truth. He said it's just the time of year where people are trying to invent news. He said that Wilson discussed the future plans with the team and his excitement moving forward. He gave no indication whatsoever of any displeasure with the Seahawks organization and said that there was less than a zero chance of Wilson going anywhere.

Surprise, right? This time of year you can't believe anything that doesn't come straight from the person's own mouth, and even then it can be edited out of context.

Re: Russell Wilson

Cut the cord on this one it’s not even a pipe dream. Someone’s sleepwalking and talked to Wilson on cloud nine——— and a half,

He also worked for the NC State Athletic Department. He shared this story about Wilson three days ago with a group of current and former NCSU media people of which I am a member. He was the editor-in-chief and slightly earlier I was photo editor of The Technician.

He said that this was his first encounter of many with the NCSU freshman, Russell Wilson, and was told about the food poisoning by Wilson himself. Tim added that he was on the team bus for the excursion. This is fairly common. I've been on buses with NCSU teams on several occasions.

So who is actually the ?

uh huh yeah sure..... whatever you say. Right.

D'oh is right, my friend. I'm not sure why you care, but Tim is also an accomplished author, winning several awards for his books on baseball and other subjects. I seriously think Tim has a degree of integrity when it comes to sharing stories.

When Tim tells others and myself something we have no reason not to trust him. I'm wondering what exactly is your problem.

And by the way, mapcow, here's a shot of our editorial staff listing from one of our issues in the summer of 1979. That's me as photo editor and I'm still friends with the editor-in-chief, John. He's now with the Associated Press.

Since we can't talk football it's time for the family argument around the kitchen table. Sad.

Re: Russell Wilson

Rugby, there's a common denominator for the agitation here if you look for it...

Anyway, Russell Wilson is a great QB and leader. I'd love to see him play for the Saints but that will never happen.
