If three picks and Thomas or an O lineman is what it takes to get him then who is going to block/catch for him? He had Metcalf and more solid receivers to throw to last year in Seattle. Why would he do better with what the saints have now minus three years of first round picks?
That's a valid point. I guess Wilson could come in and be the opposite of who's he's been his entire life. It's probably more likely that Winston will continue to be the boom/bust player he's been.

As far as players go, look I'm not concerned about losing 2 key people OR picks if we bring Wilson in. Look at what he's accomplished in Seattle with a porous line and basically one WR.

As with any signing you must weigh the risk and for me Russel Wilson is worth whatever we lose compared to what we gain over the next 6-7 years.

Don’t trade for Russell. That talk is freaking absurd. Has Payton not taught people yet that he can win without Brees?! Our backup TE had a winning record starting at QB under Payton.

Of course each team he faced sucked, including the won that beat him.

Yep

Taysom beat the lowly Falcons twice on two rushing TDs and zero passing TDs.

Wins in Denver against a team with no QB by throwing just 16 times.

I won't hang the Eagles loss on him, it was a typical Saints letdown.

I didn't come away with the impression Taysom is the QB of the future.

That is distinction without difference as the premise stands for all players and teams year over year including our own players. As much is known about next year Wilson as next year Brees or Peat.

Fair enough about the regression. And I wouldn’t expect any regression from Wilson if obtained. However, if three picks and Thomas or Ram are used to get him, I worry about who he throws too and/or blocks for him. Wilson had two receivers in Metcalf and Locket that were better than anything the saints had last year and he was unhappy. Having less targets couldn’t help out.
