If he doesn’t, they need to pull trigger on someone soon then.

Brandin Cooks is balling on a terrible team. No way I'd leave what we currently have on the field but hey that's just me.

JP suggested Cooks months back.

A quick look shows his due about 12 mill next year. Not sure how that fits in.

That he is and it’s fire sale there for sure. I wish we could get Cooks and Ingram back but I know that’s a pipe dream

Well Rapoport is saying a couple weeks so there is that. I doubt we can count on him right away when he gets back anyhow. Yea, defenses will be concerned enough about him to maybe open others up but I don’t expect him to get many targets.

And what is your basis for Thomas not getting many targets when he returns? Curious as to your analysis.

Even if he starts practicing today he still won’t be in game shape. I seriously doubt Payton is going to dump a full load on him his first game back. Dude is physical as all get out and nobody is going to want him to step on the field day one and get back to snatching the ball away in double coverage.
From what I hear Payton has to keep him and Davenport separated anyway. Thomas keeps on threatening to punch Davenport for taking up so much room on his bench. Wouldn’t want him to sprain his wrist and miss another year.

I didn't realize you were talking about Thomas' immediate return and not seeing many targets. I expect by the second half of the season he'll be back as the primary target in play calling.

Odds? I'm am wagering that Michael Thomas gets a snap in a Saints game this season. Why would "odds" need to be required? $20? Thomas plays a snap, I win. If he doesn't, you'll win.

But I'll consider odds. What are your odds that Thomas doesn't take a snap this year as you said wouldn't surprise you?

How much do you think/predict Winston (or whoever it is) will
demand at the QB spot out of curiosity ?

Don't be silly. Of course it isn't. I can't recall anyone saying that it is the same. That's why I said I'd consider odds. What do you think is the chance of Thomas not taking a snap this season? One in two? Fifty/fifty? Or maybe one in three? Or one in five? Or maybe one in ten?

Personally I would be totally shocked if Thomas didn't take a snap. The only real scenario that I could see where he didn't take a snap would be a new injury prior to his soon to be return. This is where pessimism versus optimism comes into play.

Fair enough. I’d say it’s about 10:1 in favor he does take a snap. So i’ll put up 10 bucks to your 100 that he does not take a snap.

LOL! I'm putting up $20. That means I get $2 ... if I accept those odds. But, I'm not. That seems like you would be surprised at 10:1 if he didn't take a snap, don't you think? Kind of long odds for not being surprised. I would think 1:4 would be more in keeping with "not being surprised by his not taking a snap this year".

My twenty against your five. :D

This is great! I love watching the absolute violence Davenport plays with. Plus, I’m happy Jameis will have another option to throw to. Tre’Quan, Stills and Callaway almost resembles a real WR corp.

Me too. When's your next game in the Dome? My son and his best friend have our tickets for the Bucs game. We'll be driving back from a cruise during that. We'll be at the Falcons game the following week.

That’s cool, I’ll be going on my first cruise since COVID on Nov 1. That just happens to be my birthday as well. So you know it’s about to get real. Can’t wait.
I’m glad we play on Halloween. My wife said she won’t allow me to spend another whole day watching football while we’re on vacation.

Cool, have fun. I’ve only done five day cruises. Maybe when I retire, I'll have time to do seven plus days. The time goes by so fast on the boat, lol. And yea, once we have which game we’re gonna go to set in stone, I’ll let you know.

I am high on Lamar Miller as a real complement to Kamara if he's got decent health. Why? He put up very good rushing numbers with teams that generally suck at running the ball (the Dolphins and the Texans). For that reason I think he is undervalued. It's a 17 game season now and we need to preserve Kamara a little. We need a Pollard-type to Kamara's Ezekiel Elliott, if you get what I mean.

We are going the day after Christmas and again in February. For the February trip we are taking the whole staff. There are still a bunch of rooms left at very affordable prices for that week. We haven’t been since a year before covid. We did a week in Belize before the Delta debacle but other than that NADA. Can’t ****ing wait.
