Stills signing was needed a necessary. Surprised it took this long.

Proven vet with speed that can separate & is familiar with this offense. Last time Kenny visited the dome, he burned us for a 40+ yard TD. He will take some pressure off Callaway.

No brainer.

Actually, there's a very good reason why it would have taken this long ... as a vested veteran the Saints would have been committed to covering his full season's salary if signed prior to week one. By waiting until after the week one game he is now game to game. They can cut him when Thomas or Smith return with no cap effect.

At least with the injury to McCoy and Clapp we'll be able to see how Ruiz performs in his natural position.

If my memory serves me right, SP said after the Saints picked him that he was picked to play center?!

I thought Ruiz looked great at center. McCoy only played 5 snaps before his injury. I honestly think Ruiz can be better at center than McCoy, but was only playing guard because he is also better there than McCoy. Throckmorton looked really good filling in at RG for Ruiz. We won't miss a beat.

We never heard any solid reasoning from any reputable sources. What we heard through the grapevine was that Stills didn’t take it seriously enough and had maturity issues that rubbed Brees the wrong way. That’s practically ancient history now though.
