Sean Payton on Michael Thomas’ ankle: “So far, so good”

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I hope his ankle is on the mend, it’s his state of mind I’m worried about. I hope his beef with G. Johnson is done. Please let it go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk...

That beef was over by the next week. That type of stuff happens all the time. Both players said there was nothing to it. I think you are the one that needs to "let it go", ST. I think you are making FAR, FAR more out of a simple practice scuffle than ever was there.

These guys are intense competitors. Tempers can flare. What may piss you off and cause you to hold a grudge is nothing to them. First and foremost they are professionals. Players don't have to like each other personally, but they truly form a brotherhood. I honestly don't get why you have some feeling there is some serious problem there that would interfere with either doing their job. I guarantee you the whole thing never enters their mind any longer. Both have said that and there is no reason not to believe them.

It's like the deal between Brees and Malcolm Jenkins. That was a hundred times more intense and Jenkins stated since that they love each other like brothers and that's all in the past. If they can do it surely Gardner-Johnson and Thomas can over a stupid little camp scuffle.

Oh, and Thomas was not sent home for a week for what happened with Gardner-Johnson. According to Payton he was sent home because got into it with a coach AFTER the incident You need to get your story right, my friend.

Again , you come at me personably for what I think, it’s my opinion not yours u tell me to get off of something I think AG , where the hell u get off on telling people off of what they believe is not normal on a football field that made national headlines on every sports outfit in the country and it’s just a practice scuffle. If I think MT is a Steve smith just not yet. But go blow ur smoke up someone’s else’s asre. Pleasssse!

I didn't come at you personally. Don't get where that comes from.

Sure it made news on all "sports outfits". It's the NFL. It's the most popular sport in the world. The defending Offensive Player of the Year was suspended by the team for getting into it with a coach. He served his brief suspension and everyone moved on, including the "sports outfits" looking for the next thing they could overhype. I'll guarantee if someone were to ask anyone associated with the team if there was any lingering issue, to a man they'd most likely laugh in that person's face.

It's just when someone tells me that they don't have any issues with another person I believe them. I guess it's just my trusting positive nature and belief in humankind. Believe whatever you want if it makes you feel better. That, of course, is your prerogative. If you think Thomas is some sort of prima donna, then fine. That, too, is your prerogative.

You apparently cannot ignore me. Virtually every post of yours is in response or in reference to me.

Take your own advice and ignore me.

Yeah, guys like Steve Smith, Terrell Owens, Ray Rice and Bill Romanowski were consummate professionals who always carried themselves with dignity and never let their emotions rule them or hold grudges. 🙄
