Re: Trevor Siemian

To be fair, Siemian never bombed in Denver. Never went full Peterman in a game from what I remember. He just regressed a little bit and Elway's attention span wandered to other QB options. That's better than a good amount of other QB's who got castoff and became backups elsewhere can say (Bortles comes to mind). Like Book, I don't think he will/would bust at QB and his floor is high. Glad we have them both.

Re: Trevor Siemian

From listening to interviews, it sounds like Trevor is a calming presence in the huddle and I think if he is the starter, the guys will rally around him.
Not saying they wouldn't for Taysom, but AK is virtually invisible when Taysom is at QB and that can't happen if we want to succeed. AK is our best player and he needs to be in spots to succeed, especially because of how the Thomas situation has bottomed out.

If Trevor gets the start I think you can expect Taysom to request a trade sooner than later.

I think that would be a mistake. Although Sean Payton loves him some Taysom Hill, I don't think the rest of the league views him as a franchise QB.

I'm totally confused by this. The trade deadline has passed and TH7 is a free agent at the end of the season. There's no way he can be traded, right?

If he's not happy, he can simply walk at the end of the season.

Yeah, I didn't realize his contract was up next year. I expect him to be gone if T-Money Sizzle is the starter this week.

Per news report, Trevor has been named the starter on Sunday.

Makes perfect sense to me.

I hadn’t seen that yet… Awesome news! The Failclowns will be a good team to let him go against and get comfortable.

Well .. he did sign a convoluted contract . No one is really sure about how it's supposed to work for next year, other than the Saints and Taysom. It's prolly a renegotiated deal, if we're guessing.

Not difficult at all. Everything after the end of this season is void. It was a tool that served two purposes. The extra years facilitate the Saints lowering the cap hit this year. Also NFL rules prohibit renegotiating contracts at a higher rate within a 12 month period. If TH7 had won the QB1 job, done a good job this year, then the Saints could negotiate for the future up to the $140 million cap that was applied to the void years. But no matter what they are void and TH7 can walk at the end of this season.

They said the same thing on NFL Radio a short time ago. It looks like either Ian Book gets backup duties or Taysom abandons his joker role. I hope it's the former because we need the ball in Taysom's hands as much as possible.

Re: Trevor Siemian

Siemian as the starter is a good move. Because if Hill is the starting QB we are asking him to be on the field all of the time for the offense - and being the full time QB is much much more mentally taxing than Hill's joker role where he is shuttling between the field and the sideline. That's a big concern for someone recovering from a concussion.

I could see him as Qb2 for this week if they don’t want him jumping right back into Joker coming off a concussion. After this week I can see him back in Joker. Any way you cut it he will probably have limited touches. It’s not like the Falcons are world beaters.

This is the beginning of the future... I'm calling it. We've been looking for "the guy". He is "the guy". I think Taysom could be a good NFL QB too. So if I'm wrong, I'm not going to be too sad about it. I'm just quite convinced though. If you go back to the previous game and just watch his eyes scan the field, you know.

But, but you said Sean spent several years "GROOMING" Taysom to be the starter!!

"Consider your audience" REMEMBER?

For all "THE CASUAL FANS" who may not know. Trevor Siemian was the Bronco's QB for the infamous 2016 "pancake the center, blocked extra point" game in the Dome. Broncos 25 - Saints 23 The Broncos finished 9 - 7, Saints finished 7 - 9.

I'm pulling for the guy, he certainly does seem like a confident one. I remember that 2016 broncos game, he looked like a little kid playing with a deer in the headlights look.

AK said Trevor is supremely calm and has been since Training Camp so it sounds like they have confidence in him.

He looks like a Manning first cousin! Or a relative of Ed Norton.

I don't know about him being the future. I think he earned the start against the Falcons and hopefully he gets us to the end of the season. But, a big move has to be made during the offseason.
