He screwed up twice. One dropped pass and the crucial penalty. Beyond that he led the team in receptions last week with five. He's also the only player on the Saints in the top 50 in both contested catch rate and "the distance in yards between the receiver and the nearest defender at the time of a catch or incompletion."

This is true. He runs three great routes and catches two passes in traffic and then drops an easy one.

Trautman has become the new Jason David! I think he's still getting acclimated to the big league and is getting better with each game played.

He's no Coby Fleener.

Any offensive success statistically speaking by Siemian has come late in the game when we have been down by large margins and the defense has gone into a prevent mode.

He's started 2 games. Why don't you give him a minute to get acclimated to running the offense. At least we're seeing him have success.

5 TDs. 0 INTs. Over 700 yds passing. 94pt QBR. It's a very good start.

It's like the receiver is anticipating the ball to already be there when it hasn't yet arrived.

We need a spark.

Oh, so you prefer balls in the dirt and sailing out of reach to dropped passes?

This stat brought to you by three different QBs, a weak ass WR corps and cobbled together O line.

Taysom Hill isn't starting NFL QB material, and he's never going to be. The man is in his 30s, too late to rebuild his mechanics and make him a proper passer. I know he managed to win some games last year, but he had a better supporting cast around him than what Siemian currently has to work with. I'd be willing to bet that putting him in as the starter would result in more lopsided losses than anything. Seems Payton has the same idea, or he wouldn't still be rolling with Trevor over Taysom.

He's looking just like he looked in 2017-18 when he started 25 games in Denver. He's tentative, holds onto the ball, takes a lot of sacks, and completes under 60% of his passes. He's exactly who he's always been.

Tentative? Could it be the meager receivers he's working with?

Takes a lot of sacks? Should he be pass blocking for himself?

60% completion? Should he also be CATCHING his own passes?

He took over the Broncos team in 2017 that carried Peyton Manning to the Super Bowl title the season before. He had the same receiving corps as Manning. He looked the same as he looks now.

I'm not sure Taysom would last behind center as a starter. He's already had a concussion and now he has an issue with his foot.
He's a bit of a "One Man Wrecking Crew" and has one speed which is full speed. In my opinion I think SP has this right.

Plus-one; Sean was trying to re-mould Jameis Winston from a gunslinger into a new precision quarterback, so that would flow to expect hesitation from Winston...

Re: Trevor Siemian

My question is how many QB's can Sean re-mould in one season.
If Trevor gets kidnapped by a band of crazy Bronco Zealots and Book gets called up what now.
So Sean has to re-write and write this Book all over. So maybe this time he goes with the short version.

How so? Looks about the same to me. I had Demaryius Thomas in a keeper league in 2016 and 2017 so I watched some of virtually every Broncos game with Siemian during that stretch. It was frustrating.

I listen to XM radio so I can learn things and keep up with the latest. And the picture is Sean Payton. Geez.

I'm actually impressed so far by Trevor. Now if Coach P started Taysom, I'd be okay with that too. I think he adds an element to the game and its exciting.

Re: Trevor Siemian

Trevor is good enough considering he is a backup. What the heck do you expect from last years third stringer? Give him time and maybe even at least one receiver and see how well he plays. Not to mention we've been down two to three O-linemen when he has earned the start. Taysom is a gadget player but he's too predictable to be a QB. One read and run or just run.

Hill’s 4 starts 72%.

^ This right here. Friggin A!!!!! Great post.

If Saints had Hill and Kelce imagine how different things would be. Trevor has thrown well enough to win games. But Instead of Adams and Jones we have Laurel and Hardy.

Time to hand the reigns to Taysom or Ian Book. We've seen enough of Trevor .

We always tout how we kept on winning with Bridgewater, Hill, Winston etc at QB but we haven’t won a game yet with Siemian starting. Yeah our personnel on offense is subpar but these are bad teams we’re losing to.

Trevor is a “back up” for a reason.

If Taysom is healthy on next Thurs, start him.

I'm coming here to take a bite of crow.

I was only able to listen to the game but from the sound of things Trevor just wasn't good at all. Repeatedly. Guido, he was all the things you said he was...

Why only a bite? Because Trevor was never meant to be our starting QB. He's not good enough to overcome a decimated offensive line and without key playmakers.

Let’s take that a level deeper. Trevor is good enough to be a backup, the problem is that he isn’t backing up now is he… he is starting.

If the requirement is decent receivers then you sir, could also be QB. I’ve got money that you can throw a better spiral and with a little zip. Heck, I know my 13 and 17 year old daughter can.

Trevor didn’t earn the start, he was the last man standing. :bng::bng:

At least you weren't one of those declaring Siemian as our future. LOL! When Siemian was in Denver he was throwing the ball toward two pro bowl WR's (D. Thomas and E. Sanders) and had a defense that allowed a declining Peyton Manning to win the Super Bowl the year prior.
