I wanted to take this one on separately. Personally, I would ignore it. However, I understand that I have the personality to not allow for writings from anonymous internet people to affect me, while others may not.

Being a moderator is a tough job. I do appreciate the work that you and the other moderators of this forum do on our behalf. I would not wish that job on my worst enemy.

But in the interest of trying to find an alternative solution, let me propose a couple of suggestions.

1. Moderate offensive posts. Moderators already do this anyway. If there's a post that off topic, or a personal attack, replace it with "Moderated due to personal attack" and remove the original content.

2. See if it's possible to turn off the PM system on individual users so that such attacks cannot be delivered via PM.

3. Explain to the offending user that these measures will be employed for a specific amount of time. If no moderation occurs in that timeframe, then loosen the reigns.

None of these really try to change the behavior of offending users. Or personally attacks them. Instead it just applies consequences for actions in such a way that continued poor behavior cannot reach the target while making it clear to the rest of the board that offensive/personal attacks will not be posted via the board.

I do not want the moderator job. So, please do not ask. But at least this is a potential end game that the rest of us can live with.

This is not a recent thing. This has been going on for YEARS with this little man. YEARS. And he gets worse over time. One post of support fuels him further. Watch him try to make friends with anyone who defends him IMMEDIATELY. Years in the making.

You have seen with your own eyes in this thread people posting examples of his attacks and race baiting. I ask you to trust that there are many many more such examples. You have seen with your own eyes his faux 'apology' wherein he does nothing but make excuses so that he can defend his own behavior.

Again I will ask you to understand this is not recent. Reason has been attempted many times...over years...and still he will not relent. Speedo is always going to be NPD. There are no pills for it, and the disorder is to deny the disorder. Years and years of therapy and then it's still a crap shoot. So we ignore if we can, and we push the disorder at its core when that fails - not individually but for the common good. In time, the disordered individual moves on because he can no longer feed his ego in the current environment. Speedo is hard core. He's broke but bad. It's going to take a while. Even in the face of those who have 'supported' and 'defended' him here - the very people who also acknowledge, at a minimum, that he rubs folks the wrong way, even with THAT staring him dead in the face in a thread devoted to nothing more than this situation:

TODAY this man (a) posted someone else's material on this board and failed to provide a link and (b) only after I flagged him for it did he link to it and (c)
he immediately made excuses then (d) claimed he was being harassed and (e) tried to imply this his behavior was perfectly legal. Rules mean nothing to NPD. Victim mode, today as any other. It's a simple rule - to link back, but speedo can't give that credit to the creator. He has no real opinion or knowledge to share, so he steals it, even when he does link back. That hit home with him and he reacted...in a typically NPD way.

Dude is sick sir. Again I fully understand this is disruptive, and I harbor no ill will to anyone who chooses to ignore me through this course of action. I knew it going in - that people would be disrupted and frustrated with me. In the end I say again, the ONLY person you've seen him attack in weeks is me, because I'm bringing his NPD behavior directly to his front door, every day - every post. So, he's uber-nice to everyone else and tries to make this about me against him...tries to make it personal. That's what NPD does. He has not yet come to understand I do not mind being the villain as he perceives it. I don't have that kind of ego.

People have a right to post here without being attacked for their opinions.
Race baiting is dangerous. Speedo is public enemy #1 on both counts. Trust in the process. It's already working. Try to have a laugh. I'm trying to keep it funny. It's the least I can do...
