I'll wait to hear any evidence in this case before I comment on Kamara.
The only thing I can say now, is with all Kamara has done for the city and
from what I can see about his character, if he did beat up somebody, that person must have really done something stupid to piss off Kamara enough to fight.

The cap is a matter of perspective. I personally have no issue with the way Loomis and Khai Harley manage it. It's all founded on sound cost management principles. More and more franchises are beginning to adopt many of those same principles to maximize their assets, as well.

Just got to wait and see what happens when all the facts are in. Maybe multiple other people were involved. Glad that nobody died and (so far) no guns were found. Wouldn’t be the first NFL guy to have a legal scrape and move on.

Many of what principles? This post doesn't make sense. In fact it looks like you just needed to drop in your .02 but you don't really have anything meaningful to say.

Everything is a matter of perspective. In other words, everything is relative. Keep trying. Who knows? In a few years you might actually have a thought you didn't steal.

By the way, nothing is relative about the speed of light, and nothing is relative about a hard cap number either. Dummy.

I have a bit more time to explain, voodooido. First of all, the excellent interview below with Khai Harley covers several of the philosophies of cap management that the Saints utilize. He points out how they take advantage of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) to maximize the cap. He also covers the misconception of "kicking the can down the road".

Secondly, I'll try to give a simple example of that part of their strategy. This utilizes the cost accounting principle of current value versus future value, or the "kicking of the can" referred to above.

In year one we're working with a $100 million dollar cap. Let's assume a 10% annual increase in the cap. In year one a $20M asset counts as (20/100=.20) 20% of the cap.

In year two the cap becomes $110M. That same $20M becomes 20/110=.1818 or 18.18% of the cap.

In year three the cap becomes $121M. That same $20M becomes 20/121=.165 or 16.5% of the cap.

In year four the cap becomes $133.1M. That same $20M becomes 20/133.1=.15 or 15% of the cap.

The cash paid in year one is better accounted for in subsequent periods when it becomes a smaller percentage of the cap. This frees up cap for other assets in all periods. This is the maximization of assets. However, the selling off or trading of assets in a current period negates all of the savings by forcing all future accounting for the costs of those assets into the current period.

Having video match the complaint is bad news for the Saints and AK. I hope this is a big misunderstanding and AK didn't do anything wrong, gut feeling tells me he will be off the team in the near future.

(Excerpt)

...Kamara reportedly told detectives Greene called one of his friends ugly and he later said “I’ll whoop your a** too.” The document says Kamara saw a fight break out, saw Greene getting punched, and threw a “couple” punches of his own.

When asked why he punched Greene, Kamara reportedly told detectives he thought Greene was running away and had done something to his group, so he chased and punched Greene several times...

The new age of Superstar players unfortunately comes with this baggage.

I don't recall Colston, Henderson, Moore, Meachem and PT23 making any troublesome news in their time here.

These new ages guys aren't role models, they are entitled millionaires that have an ego bigger than their brain.

They're kids - most of them anyway, relative to those of us with more than a few decades on em. Kids with a lot of money. At worst its a life lesson. Back in my days hanging out in honkytonks...with millions in my pocket? Lord have mercy...

I'm not sure that's the problem. The police report said AK did not hit the guy first, one of his guys did. Wrong crowd, maybe?

These kind of incident have always been happening; let's talk about Raiders John Matuszak and Lyle Alzado when they came to New Orleans for the Superbowl...

I pulled a few weeks security duty at the Grand Lodge Building on St Charles one summer to help a friend; a certain former Saints reserve DB, high as a kite, was running the roof perimeter...

Be interesting to see what this Darnell Greenes background looks like.
Just hope he's not some errand from God figure.
I'll have to say this is way off the line from AK's character.
I just don't see it but there's a bunch of familiar names that can alter ones judgement.
Like Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Jose Cuervo, Ron Bacardi, Ezra Brooks, Johnnie Walker to name a few..
One thing for certain this is one of DA's first major problems.

Wonder how he handles it. Does he set the tone by making an example out of AK and cut ties with him? It’s going to be interesting to see because this incident could help define the culture he wants to cultivate. He would be a fool to do so. I think.

Re: Alvin Kamara Arrested

Coming in and taking over for SP will be challenging enough, don't see DA cutting out his biggest gun. He has to get the message out that this crazy activity isn't gonna fly on his watch. But like most everyone else here thinks it's the Crooked Commish that's gonna make things difficult.

Well if you see a 5ft 10- 215 pound Running Back with a reflector vest
and a Big Squeezy T-shirt under it picking up litter on I-10 chances are it just might be AK.
