this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; We may have to cut him. Are there special cap rules if a player gets in trouble with the law and goes to jail?...

Yeah. That would be pretty shortsighted.

Um, this is America, remember? I believe there is suppose to be a trial first. Until then the person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a questionable doubt. I read it is going to be extremely difficult to prove that Kamara was the one that inflicted the "substantial bodily harm" (broken orbital) associated with the felony charge given at least two of the other three defendants reportedly stomped on the man's head while Kamara supposedly only delivered some punches. This is the opinion of a legal expert published several months ago. The article has disappeared off into Twitter land and I can't track it down again.

The expert also said Kamara is more likely to receive a misdemeanor battery verdict, if convicted of anything, which wouldn't result in any jail time especially given his clean record.

Doesn't that fall under the contract clause, Conduct detrimental to the team?
Pretty sure there are conditions in the contracts.
