On the salary front, while player pay appears be growing at a tremendous rate, it is the essentially same ratio of the overall cap as it has been all along. That is, as we all know, mandated by the CBA. If revenues increase by 15% per year the cap is mandated to increase by the same percentage and total salaries, in turn, are forced to keep pace. In relative terms the players are being paid basically the same rate as they were 30 years ago. |
