Deshaun Watson to Saints?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; My concern is his upcoming focus. 22 civil suits is an absolute **ckton of distraction and stress, those are not class action so he has to handle them independently. Depositions, accusations, every one in a city close enough for reporters ...

Probably also worth mentioning that a $150MM+ NFL QB went to see a masseuse in her home. Some might call that absolutely stupid and question his judgement. The big easy is not exactly a safe place for him lol.

Re: Deshaun Watson to Saints?

HMM not sure of this...but I would probably do it

TRADE IDEA:
#Texans Receive:
•3 1st Round Draft Picks
•Andrus Peat
•Taysom Hill
•2 3rd Round Draft Picks

#Saints Receive:
•Deshaun Watson
•Brandin Cooks

First, I think you have to sell him on the idea of NOLA. Once he is considering, then you have to have that conversation, have you learned anything about putting yourself in bad situations.

We need to get it done

I really don't think anybody wants Cooks back. Better off signing Landry. Thomas, Landry, and Callaway would be a damn good WR 1-3.

Re: Deshaun Watson to Saints?

I kinda feel like it's Watson or bust, at this point. If we try to get him and fail, I think Jameis signs elsewhere or jacks up his price. I do think a deal is doable here, but we'd have to bite the bullet and trade some stuff that we may not want to trade. Ultimately, though, I think it's worth it.

I say this purely from a football standpoint, not a legal or moral standpoint.

I hear he’s talking to Cleveland today. This kinda has that OBJ/Suh feel about it. You know where you want to play already. Just resign Jameis, get Jarvis, and draft a speedster, a o-lineman, and possibly a tight end. And the offense will roll

Peat's contract has been restructured. There's no way we can absorb the cap hit with any player restructured this offseason.

That's the way I see it, too, LS83.

That asking price for Watson is too high and with the civil suits and possible 6 plus games suspension, which will happen and you want to trade the farm for that? Don’t get me wrong he’s damn good but that’s a kings ransom

I wouldn't rule out the name Davenport being mentioned in that "trade" scenario as well. He's young, talented but often injured.

Houston is willing to trade, however you will have to give up a good player & picks if you want Watson on your roster.

It is what it is.
