No confidence in those guys. Love Taysom in his non QB role. We need that. I wouldn't bring in Minshew as competition, but as a competent backup instead of drafting a QB this year. I fully trust him to get the job done if Jameis goes down.

I would have been fine with taking a flier on Watson if he came at a steep discount like Kareem Hunt or Antonio Brown. Deshaun to me was a similar gamble to those two during their scandals if not worse, clearly a top talent at his position but a big risk with character, pr, suspension, and reoffense, and also a risk with health and rustiness from sitting out. Since Watson plays qb not wr or rb, instead of a cheap contract and no compensation like the Browns paid for Hunt, they had to give record compensation and a record contract for Watson. It was stupid. Its possible Watson does his suspension and stays out of trouble and remains a franchise QB like the second half of Ben Roethlisbergers career but there are just so many risks. Any bit bid we made was a mistake. But if we are smart we can use this scandal to get the next Kareem Hunt when it puts gambling on players with character uncertainties out of fashion again and the gambles can be made without compensation or big money. Watson plays QB so I would have traded a 2nd round pick and given him $20 million as the qb version of Hunt or Brown but the Browns paying him so much more was insane and someone else jumping off that clip doesnt mean it was ever a reasonable price.

I just think it's crazy that there was such a huge push to sign him. Everyone knew that he had baggage. If he gets suspended a year, that's 2 years without playing. The Browns are dumb for giving up so much. The Texans won that deal.

According to the CBA, either. The fact that he appealed insures that it is to lengthen the suspension.

And, no, Watson cannot appeal the "final" league suspension term. However, his legal team can attempt to sue the league, but based upon what I have read the CBA and Judge Robinson's supporting statement gives them no jurisdictional shot of overturning anything.

I copy and paste, just as does Smashmouth, to share as much information as is possible about our Saints. I'm sorry you believe what we, and others, are doing is nothing more than clutter, but to many it is information that they do not have time to search out themselves.

It now sounds like the league is thinking about hitting him with six games per violation by identifying four separate violations. Minimum of 24 games looking at it in that manner.
