Not many QBs look good against Bama, especially with non-SEC type talent. Tom Brady didn't light up the football field in Michigan. You could in fact argue that Ian Book's numbers look better at Notre Dame than Tom Brady's numbers at Michigan.

Yeah, but Smash it's a Star Trek Kobayashi Maru; though the QB is likely to fail, how he handles stress, is still able to make best possible decisions, Bama is a great test...

Book was one read, if that, and run, and even then he often chose the wrong running lanes...

So one game with arguably college level help due to Covid rules no longer in place defines his NFL tenure?

So Joe Montana sucked?

It's a wee bit premature to close the book on Ian Book, neaux?

Joe Montana’s career ended when I was four years old. In my lifetime I haven’t see a successful ND QB.

I emigrated from Paris, France in 1978... when I knew NOTHING about football. So I knew nothing about past greats. But I grew to learn, know and then love the game, even past greats. It's fun watching the ones that blazed the trails... players like Gale Sayers, Walter Peyton, and many, many more.
