Are they planning to make him a safety I wonder?

We don't need one of these below average QB's. I would rather have a CB that will actually see the field this season and going forward.

Burrow tore his acl and is just fine. Why wouldn’t Jameis? And he might be the man. They’re are other qb hungry teams and haven’t bitten yet besides Pittsburgh. So the other teams don’t think they got the goods either. If Jameis does bad this year then draft a real 1st round franchise qb. This tells me all I need to know about this years batch of qb’s. But you are entitled to your opinion. I’m just a couch GM

Seems to have some good speed. Wonder if he is good on special teams/returns.

We will see. They know more than anyone here for certain.

I hear they’re gonna put Taylor at safety

For the record, Alontae Taylor is a good player. Not a top 50 prospect, but it’s not a terrible pick.

So, your opinion is just different from mine and I hope both opinions work out! I’m just thinking filling a need with crap gives you nothing but crap! Yeah, those QB’s might not be rated in the top 10, but a helluva lot better then what may be available next year!

and yes, I’m back!!!😊

Coach Dennis want CONTRIBUTORS early on.

I don’t think he’s remotely interested in any of these remaining QBs.

Some fans are just gonna have to accept it.

Mebbe this means honey badger is signing with us. Is Taylor safety material ... Or a tweeter?

I agree that this pick was a reach no doubt. I wanted McBride. But they should have a few franchise qb’s in next years draft coupled with the compensation we'll get when Payton comes back. We can trade up to get one if need be. And welcome back! 👍

Very smart and versatile player. We’ll have to see what Dennis Allen says tonight about the pick, but I think safety is the vision.

Meanwhile GB picks Christian Watson at 34. Aaron Rodgers is happy now.

One more quick thing about the Alontae Taylor pick: with our head coach being a former DB coach and having Kris Richard in the mix… I’m inclined to trust their judgement on the player.

I wouldn’t call them below avg. all need work and would sit behind JW for a trade or Two anyway. Let them sit and learn since we mortgaged the farm for a 2nd rd 1 pick.

That’s what many don’t see.

The Saints know how to evaluate and identify DB’s.

Even if he only contributes to special teams in year 1, that’s huge. Not to mention he is versatile (CB/safety) & fast (4.36).

Alontea might be a baller :bng:

My favorite time of the year and the WiFi goes out here?!? #FML...

While love idea of drafting another CB, why reach on a CB that's only played the position briefly & most scouting services had a end of R3 thru R4 grade?!?

Mean, you just took Corey White, again, with a second round pick?!?

See now that Penn State FS Jaquan Brisker went one pick right our pick at No. 49 which sucks; maybe Saints have wink-wink deal with Kwon and Honey Badger?

I'd so love to see the Saints Draft Board when this draft has completed...

And it looks like getting inside reviews from coaches, players still is heavily weighted; why not just make Ireland GM and do away with the scouting dept?

Yeah, but LS, those franchise QBs will require a R1 pick, which we traded (didn't like it, but I get it) to Philly next year...

30th all time out of 1923 CB from 1987 to 2022.

And the otherside of it is, Tennessee-Saints in-house connection and sometimes coaches can see more in a player than is there...

Saints got glowing reviews from their Nebraska connection and Payton wanted his Richard Sherman, but we got Stanley Jean Baptiste...

That said, hope my outlook for the player becomes golden and he proves to be a great player, my criticism is Draft Management, reaching on a pick...

Okay, my apologies to the Black and Gold Krewe, I admit I didn't read through Chris's post in it's entirety, fully grasping the great info he spoils us with during Draft season...

Just pissed I lost WIFI tonight (Only have Streaming, No Cable Service), my favorite time of the NFL year, my favorite day; spiking 103°F fever all week isn't helping...

Again, I was wrong, and apologize to Chris and you guys for not reading Chris's post in it's entirety and giving an uninformed take...

Thanks, Smash - Love you, Brother...

The common denominator amongst all our picks thus far is a well above average RAS. All of our guys are very smart and fast/quick, even mister nasty LT! Penning is going to need a nickname, if he doesn't have one already. :bng:

Re: 2022 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints

I think they have a 5th and 6th rounder left for today. My guess is a DT and RB, maybe a TE if there are any worthy ones to consider.

We should do well for our UDFA. We need depth at G.

Re: 2022 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints

Struggling to understand that last pick. They are already saying they see him as a CB first. Surely bigger needs than a 4th choice CB.

Re: 2022 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints

I’m thinking RB Hassan Haskins and… hell if I know. We’ll see who’s available when the time comes.
