Two of our starting WR's are second year guys. We may benefit from veteran leadership. I see us drafting a WR and bringing a few guys in in UDFA like you said, but we could definitely benefit from bringing in guys that we know can play now.
The injury issue is a tricky thing. Both Thomas and Landry started off last year healthy (So did Penning). The injuries they had were not reoccurring issues. They were plays that could happen to any player. Didn’t Trautman hurt himself running a route pre-snap?

The Saints were Snakebit for injuries last year. The national press has documented it. That’s 2 years in a row we’ve had really bad luck as far as player availability. It’s happened to old, young, prone and non-prone players.

Yup. The type of injuries we have been experiencing have nothing to do with conditioning or such. It's simply been bad luck. Just being in the wrong place at the wrong time AND to key individual players. In fact I read that our soft tissue numbers are way down. That's on the Saints' Dr. Matt Rhea.
