Once a rookie QB lose that confidence, its over.

Has any recent Ohio St QB excelled? And please don't claim Burreaux.

No player that has scored low (Stroud had 18%) on the S2 test regardless of position or where they attended college has had any success in the NFL from what I have read. Who knows? Maybe Stroud will be the first, but that dynamic has me more in doubt than the fact he played at Ohio St, honestly.

By the way, Burrow scored a 97% according to this report.

I'm still high on Justin Fields. If he has the time (o line needs to give him time). Has all the tools. Good decision-making, elusive, and a big arm.

Glad the Bears traded for Chase Claypool last year. Legit threat and target for the young QB.

Good. Time to see what our DE (Turner & Granderson) can do against the ELITE of the ELITE.

I'll be focusing on DE/DT & O line play.

Quick observation:

Some of these QBs (Clifford - GB) & Stroud should be in the shot gun.
1 pre season game but it may be moving too fast for them right now.

It may have been posted elsewhere, but I heard Landon Young hurt his knee.

It sure would be nice for Turner to have a statement game out there Sunday.

Stacking. It's the new black!

We ain’t gonna stack **** with a beaten up offensive line that has very little continuity. This isn’t Payton’s offense where we can just plug and play backups and still have one of the strongest offensive lines in the league. Our linebacker situation is a little more dire than most want to admit. It’s the same thing every year, a few position groups loaded with talent and one position group void of any. Safety, CB’s, TE’s and more recently WRs. This organization likes to put all their eggs in one basket.

Facts.

Outside of Mckoy & Ramz, nothing else you can’t count on in those trenches.

On paper, you may get by some of these NFC South
teams with inexperienced QBs.

But in post season? Better tighten up with QUALITY DEPTH now.

Looking forward to the Chargers/Saints joint practices next week.

Bosa, Hebert, Wiliams, Latt, DCarr etc.

Good matchups.

He's excellent competition for the roster whether he makes it or not. If AK gets banged up and Miller has a rough rookie season we might need to bring in several more.jk

FYI,

The Saints are back to the grind this afternoon (4 pm).

Closed practice.

After that, off to the west coast & practice/game with the Bolts @ SoFi stadium this upcoming Sunday.

Per Katherine Terrell, Taysom Hill strained his oblique @ practice. Ruiz left with a shoulder injury.

Dennis Allen said it doesn't look to be serious at all for either.

Ice up, it's a grind.

I really like Taysom but I’m convinced he can’t stay healthy through a season if he got 20 touches a game.

Taysom just isn't built to step out of bounds I don't think lol

Just unfortunate that it also includes injuries when you play like that, because it's damn exciting to watch.

IMO Bryan needs to show more at these joint practices, and subsequent preseason games to secure a roster spot.

Not having Lattimore for much of last season was a huge hit. This defense is automatically several notches better with him on the field and healthy.

Following up on the rookie AT Perry at practice ...

Appears to be making plays against Lattimore. That is hard to do folks.

Talk about confidence building. The kid is definitely making the most out of his reps & trying to seperate himself from others for the #4 spot.

On his way to WR3, dare we say?

Hmm ...

But tell me this though. Didn't the great Marques Colston go from #6 on the depth chart to #2 as a rookie?
That year (06) was crowded at WR.

Heard that Demario returned to practice yesterday. The calf must have been something minor as was indicated earlier. I'm really liking how they are being very deliberate with any soft tissue issue. Smacks of Dr. Rhea all they way.
