Report: Dennis Allen 'is in a good spot' after 14-18 start with Saints

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I read something that DA would have to win 26 straight games, just to get to .500 If this report about him being safe is true, then Loomis needs to go too....

We’re basically all indirectly or directly addressing Gayle, who obviously isn’t paying attention. So we’re in for a painful ride.

I was talking to my dad yesterday (a Vikings fan) and trying to describe the mess the Saints are in. I told him the Saints are basically the current Mets without the fire sale.

If they want to keep him, it better be for him to over see them getting the cap in order. No-one extending/converting bonus all these older players. If it takes a year or two to clear them out then do it. Get some picks and build for the future. Improve both lines then work from there

The defense is honestly getting the job done. Maybe with a different OC things could be different.

I don't know what fixes this team.

But taking the same approach cannot be the answer.

It couldn't be a whole lot worse.

If we are keeping DA for another year, at least act like you realize things need to be improved. A new offensive coordinator is a good start. Bring someone in when the season is over and let him sit down with our QB and so that they are on the same page from Day 1.

Otherwise, it looks like you are not really trying. Or you suck at what you do. And at this point I am not sure which of those is the truth.

The D has looked good against below average teams, but struggled every other time.

Now I'm not saying they are all to blame, because the offense has put them straight back out on the field at an alarming rate, however look at the strong D performances Vs the weak.

Panthers - worst QB and team in the league
Giants - D played well, Giants O line is shocking
Titans - were 2 missed TD catches from beating us
Packers - D had a complete meltdown in the dying stages of the game
Jags - D got worked
Rams - D got worked
Lions - Saints became first team in NFL History to allow 21 points in the first 4 mins
Bucs - worst rushing offense in the league, ran all over us
Falcons - 230 yards rushing on us
Texans - couldn't stop anyone

Problems are everywhere.

The D is old, they are large upfront yet cannot stop the run.
If teams run to the outside, we are slow and our slot corner cannot tackle.
Werner has massively regressed.
Demario is great, but he's been made to look foolish a few times this year by younger runners.
Cam has been nonexistent all year.
MatthewT and Rugby Saint II like this.

When your scouts are more focused on a DE measurable being right than can he actually play is why there's no pressure. Davenport,Foskey,Turner. The scouting department t is still living off a draft 5/6 years ago
