this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I wonder how many players are actually in this to win it?...

Re: Week 17 - Bucs vs Saints
I think most are. a lot guys have incentives, some are fighting for their careers. Not a good look to future suitors if you are perceived as given up. Think its pretty hard to "act" like they are if they really aren't. But hell who knows.

I had posted my reply before I saw yours, bobdog. You are 100% correct.

Re: Week 17 - Bucs vs Saints
I'd say most ... some are potentially auditioning for jobs elsewhere in 2024.
However looking at Kamara's body language last game (Rams), he's mentally checked out on this coaching staff. I'm probably off base here but I just don't see the "will", "fire" & "desire" from players to lay it on the line for Allen. Was checking out that Raiders/Chiefs & Lions|Vikings game ... those players are performing HARD for Dan Campbell and interim HC Antonio Pierce. Don't see that at all with Allen. |

Re: Week 17 - Bucs vs Saints
Every single one of them. They are playing for their job whether it be with the Saints or another team. I have heard your question addressed dozens of times to players, coaches, and GM's, over the years both currently active and retired. To a man every single one of them stress that players and coaches alike give it all they have to win every week regardless of other factors. Every game for them is a real job interview going forward. They also consistently insist that the whole concept of quitting is a fan generated concept, as is the whole tanking concept.
