This site is no longer great. And that's primarily because of you. Not the Saints. Not their personnel. Not their organization. You.

You are like the dog in the fire smoking a cig, saying everything is fine. The obliviousness you show when multiple people are literally screaming that the problem is you, and your compatriots, in your face is absolutely astounding to watch.

The bickering is a byproduct of the fact that you will not leave any conversation about the team alone because you are pissed off that they cannot deliver you a SuperBowl championship every year. You "know" that the team needs to be changed. You also know that isn't happening anytime soon. So, your expression of your frustration is to spew crap on any conversation here that states anything other than blowing up the whole thing up and starting over.

People are getting frustrated with you. And we cannot ignore you because you are everywhere on here. You don't want to talk Saints football. You don't want to talk about how things can get better. All you want to do is complain bitterly here, aggravate many people here, then hide your hands with "I'm just expressing myself. If you don't like it then you can just ignore me." knowing full well that there is no way to do that.

So, drop your trite "The Saints are the problem." The problem is you. And you won't do anything to try to rectify it.

So, I'm taking a page your book. Since you are the problem on this site in my estimation. And like the Saints you cannot seem to fix it, I'm going to complain about you everywhere you go here. And I'm calling for everyone who is as aggravated as I am with this to do the same. Maybe when you start to see every one of your post followed by 20-30 responses about how you are ruining this site, maybe you'll finally have some self reflection and make some changes.

I don't understand if your problem is with the Saints, why don't you address your issues with them? E-mail Loomis, or Greg Bensel, their VP of Communications and express your displeasure to them. Do it every day if you like. They are the ones who need to hear your complaints, not us.

And yes, I'm just expressing what I perceive and feel. And like you I will continue to do so at every turn. I would even advise folks to put me on ignore too because every response of mine that follows you is going to be just like this one.

No. It's you. You have the binary "Must win championships/Otherwise complete crap" switch that ordinary fans don't have. It's you that doesn't that the ability to read a room and respond accordingly.

Why do you respond to your issues with the Saints here? You have issues with the Saints. Go take up your issues with them. We want to talk about Saints football in the real world here, not in your fantasy world where the Saints go 20-0, dominate everyone, and win the championship every year.

You are not going to get to deflect blame. You are the problem and you have no interest in fixing it. You don't be a part of this community. You want to terrorize this community.

I hope you are starting to see that we're not going to put up with it this year. And we're not going to try to ignore you anymore.

YOU ARE THE PROBLEM HERE. FIX IT!

This isn’t a glowing endorsement for Dennis Allen. The New Orleans Saints head coach was graded worst among his peers by NBC Sports analyst Patrick Daugherty, clocking in at the bottom of the offseason coach rankings — at least among returning head coaches. The eight first-year coaches were also ranked beneath Allen, but that’s because they’re all relatively unknown quantities.

Unfortunately for Allen, we know exactly what he is and where his shortcomings lie. We’ll let Daugherty explain why Allen was ranked at No. 24 among the 24 head coaches returning from 2023:

“We lost a lot of bad coaches last winter. Arthur Smith, Brandon Staley, Josh McDaniels and Ron Rivera send their regards. That means we are left with the merely mediocre to round out our list. No one is more committed to the bit than Dennis Allen. A defensive coordinator trapped in a head coach’s body, Allen has treated Sean Payton’s leftover offense like a museum heirloom that disintegrates if you touch it. This is an attack that hasn’t innovated in three years, right down to banging Alvin Kamara between the tackles for no reason and rushing Taysom Hill onto the field any time there’s a critical down. Well, it’s not entirely true there’s been no innovation. Allen has decided to find out just how boring Drew Brees-style quarterbacking can become. Andy Dalton pushed the envelope in 2022. Derek Carr reached new heights in 2023. Allen, who admittedly takes care of business on defense, has finally moved on from Payton Ball on offense but replaced it with … Kubiak Ball. Not Gary, but Klint. It’s a fine system in a vacuum. It’s also become mummified under Klint, with no new wrinkles inserted since the Peyton Manning days in Denver. That’s what the Saints’ season and Allen’s future employment hinges on: This old Kubiak dog picking up some new Shanahan tricks. I suppose there are worse plans, but I’m not seeing many for 2024.”

It's YOU! Not the Saints. If YOU didn't do what YOU do, then almost everyone here would have a lovely time talking about Saints football.

You are here to disparage the team. And for God knows what reason, you are determined to make most of us miserable in the process. I guess you think that somehow you can get us all as pissed off about the Saints as you are. It's not going to work. All you will do is what you are doing now: Getting many of us pissed at YOU!

Well you have succeeded. And you can keep coming back with your pithy "But it's the Saints!" Lame excuses fall of deaf ears.

Test your theory. Go into read mode a while. Watch the site. See if all of us are so pissed with the Saints that the same kind of moaning and complaining that YOU always do continues to the degree that YOU do it.

You won't. Because YOU know the answer to that. Your objective is to make us miserable. YOU HAVE SUCCEEDED! But I'm not going take that out on the Saints, because the Saints are not the cause of it. YOU ARE!

I’m not going to rehash the entire Payton/Brees Saints era, other than to say it was spectacular and fun. We won a playoff game and went the NFC Championship the first year, and won a Super Bowl in their 4th season together. A lot of stuff happened and there were good and bad seasons, but later they reinvented the team and had another excellent run of success. I appreciated every minute of the roller coaster ride, and ecstatically shared many of those moments here (mostly in LIVE CHAT during the games).

The hallmark of those teams was that they were always exciting to watch. Payton coached with authority and his energy was that of the fans—— he might have been overly aggressive with challenges or 4th down plays, but that aggressiveness fed into the team, who built on that energy. You could also count the number of games on that the Brees/Payton Saints were blown out of on one hand.

This is a different story. I am here to chronicle that story with y’all.

This is no longer about the Saints. You don't get to post this without making suggestion about how do you fix it beyond firing Allen and Loomis. I gave you that opportunity before. You declined to engage in it.

I cannot see why you can't figure out that if the only that gets discussed here is how bad the Saints are, and that they should even bother to play the season, then everyone other than you and Mapcow will just leave. Leave you to a desolate wasteland. I guess that's you want: all of us to stay here and join into your misery.

Everyone wants to point out all the problems. But no one seems to have any solutions. Did you see any articles from this guy back in January about who the Saints should have hired instead of Kubiak?

I really just wish you would take your own advice. You said elsewhere that you wouldn't go to war with disorganized incompetence. You clearly feel that's where the Saints are. So, why don't you just walk away until you see the competence you seek? Come back at the end of the season.

Derek Carr’s bad habit of throwing short of the sticks has drawn criticism from Saints fans and mockery from his opponents, and the numbers bear it out. Pro Football Reference measures success rate as the percent of plays which gain at least 40% of yards needed on first down, 60% on second down, and 100% on third or fourth down. Carr’s current success rate as a passer is just 43.6%, which ranks 20th among the NFL’s 32 starting quarterbacks.

Look at more comprehensive metrics like quarterback rating (where Carr’s 82.8 grade ranks 20th) or PFR’s adjusted net yards per pass attempt (which has Carr at 23rd, with a 5.2 ANY/A) and you’ll see more of the same: he’s on the wrong end of the spectrum in terms of NFL quarterback play.

It wouldn’t be as big an issue if Carr were playing on the modest contract the Saints signed Jameis Winston to; his last two-year, $28 million deal would be more in line with someone performing at Carr’s level. That Carr is instead being paid to play like a fringe top-10 quarterback (his $37.5 million average per-year salary clocks in at 13th) makes it a problem when he’s closer to a bottom-10 passer (his success rate, again, is 20th). If Carr can’t pick it up and meet the expectations set for him, he and his contract are quickly going to become an albatross holding this team back.

That era is gone. That era worked because of Payton and Brees. Both of them are gone. And they are never ever coming back.

It's rare when an organization loses their Hall of Fame quality people and keep rolling at the same level with a new group of people. Maybe the 49ers in the 80's? Look at what happened to the Cowgirls since Aikman, Smith, and Irvin moved on. They haven't sniffed anything close to a championship. People like that just don't fall off the turnip truck.

It's about YOU because YOU constantly scream about how YOU don't have that anymore. But YOU don't even want to talk about how do you get the next Payton or Brees and get the qualities that you describe above. YOU just want it magically done so that you can recapture that feeling that you used to have.

That's not real life. Especially in the NFL. Ask the Lions. Or the Browns. If may be 50 years before the Saints recapture that.

My fear is that you are going to scream each and every one of those 50 years. That you cannot find anything at all about the current organization that's worth talking about. And even worse you try at every turn to prevent anyone else from doing it either.

So, again, keep listening, this is about YOU. YOU cannot get over the post Brees/Payton hangover. You don't want to talk about how we can possibly get past where we are. You don't want to have any discussion about the current organization. And again for some inexplicable reason you feel compelled to spew that trash here where very few people want to hear it on a daily basis.

Allen was not fired in January. Kubiak was hired in January. The organization for 2024 is set. And no amount of your screaming is going to change that. So, frankly, I don't want to hear it anymore. I want to be able to talk about training camp, and preseason games, and how the Saints are going to come out 2-2 or better in games 2-5 in the regular season.

You don't want to talk about any of that. But for certain you are going to dump load on anyone that does.

Just write everything you're going to write here and send it to Mickey. He's the one who actually has the power to make the changes you want. He should hear about that from you. We don't need to.
