And then we have several seriously disillusioned fans who are lashing out and bringing the board down with bad vibes.

How many times do we need to hear from rightfully upset fans complaining about the team? I'm not criticizing anyone. I'm just trying to have fun with friends loving my Saints.

I get it. I really do. Last season I was feeling like a fool for buying in too deep emotionally and I was seriously disappointed with DA. This is a fresh start. The glass is over half full!

This is a new season with a brand new offense. We have a top 10 defense. Our special teams should be special again. DA seems to have bought into the KK mentality of holding players accountable and demanding excellence. Let's all try hard to be a little nicer to the other posters who want the same thing you do. Success! Let's bond together behind our Saints and try to be civil in our discussions.

I feel all your pain but I agree with SFIAH that there is a board to discuss other topics. Let's use one of those if we want to do more than politely debate. By the way, name calling is beneath all of us. Peace Out!
This used to be a peaceful (and passionate) place to get away and be among friends, maybe not too long ago, but you have to admit that it all centered around THE SAINTS. And THE SAINTS were an entirely different experience, even during our decline. I remember LIVE CHATS during games, where we were all on the edge of our seats, many times right down to the final seconds of each game. Even losses were still SAINTS games. Y’all know that with DA at the helm, and the pathetic parade of QB mediocrity since Drew, that fire or even that rollercoaster ride just doesn’t happen. For some of us, it’s hard to get excited about an “Offensive Coordinator” as the answer to an overall mismanagement issue that goes all the way up to the top (ownership) of the pyramid, which is clearly out of touch with the exciting (if not winning) culture and atmosphere of what used to be THE SAINTS, and more importantly, THE FANS.

If some of us long time loyal Fans call it out, even to the point of absolute annoyance to the rest of you, it’s not personal. It’s not about us, or about you, it’s about THE SAINTS. The name calling happens when some on here turn your frustration with the team, into frustration with the Fans who are expressing frustration with a consistently disappointing organization. YOU (you know who you are) make it personal. Some of us are just pointing out the facts about what we all are witnessing. So if somebody takes a jab at “that sinner guy” or mapcow, and calls us “Haters” or goes through the trouble of posting gifs of cows sh*tting, we’re gonna smack you down, and remind you that THE SAINTS are the problem, not the (rightfully) disgruntled Fans.

I am sharing this right here on this “Oasis” thread, NOT to be negative, but to illustrate that first of all, it is ridiculous for grown men to be restricting and regulating the free expression of ideas to the point that y’all can have little sunshiny safe places to sing Kumbaya, and I find it fascinating how some of you can do the hopium thing with a clear conscience, but also, in preparation for this coming season, where some of us will be coming here to share what is REAL about THE SAINTS as the season unfolds, and we expect to be able to do that without the truly childish reactions from pipe-dreamers with rose colored glasses.

Be honest, a thread like this shouldn’t even have to exist, and wouldn’t, if our team was even half as stimulating as it was just a few short years ago.

LOOKING FORWARD to a new season… WHODAT.

This was definitely positive news. I feel like we have the team to win now by pairing still solidly performing veterans with several young dynamic players. These vets can help those young players develop by example both on and off the field. With the lack of adequate development in the college ranks it is becoming more and more important to depend upon every resource that the teams have to bring these players along. These players like Jordan, Demario, Kamara, Mathieu, and hopefully Simmons, can add just as much value to the roster in practice and in meetings as they do on the field. The batons are being passed.

With the exception of the thug...yes. or maybe, he can demonstrate how ridiculously stupid and criminal his actions were.... doubtful, though.

Re: The 2024 Sunshine Oasis: Positive Saints Talk Only

Just came across this surprising stat.

Guess who those two QB's were.

From the link above:

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The 65-yard touchdown pass that Dontayvion Wicks caught in stride on the third play of Saturday's preseason opener at the Cleveland Browns was reminiscent of the 17 deep balls that Jordan Love connected on last year.

Only two quarterbacks hit on more throws of 25 or more air yards last season: New Orleans' Derek Carr and Miami's Tua Tagovailoa with 19.

No matter how much you enjoy cleaning Derek Carr’s Jockstrap, the rest of us have eyes not obscured by rose colored glasses, and no allegiance to our front office’s accounting department. We watch the game of Football, and we saw something in Rattler, that Carr simply AINT got. Stick around and watch what happens.

map… Since this IS the sunshiny oasis thread, a bright spot is that we saw something in Rattler that might get us to a championship probably in a decade or so. Maybe longer.
