I'd love to see Rizzi excel at this job and take over permanently. Especially if Loomis remains in charge. While the idea of the Saints conducting a thorough coaching search excites me, the idea of Loomis leading said search terrifies me to the bone.

Why not? There are only 32 head coaching spots in the world. Only a few of those come open each year. Almost every one of those are open because of some sort of failure. The worst of these are still a dream come true. These are things I have heard said by former coaches and front office personnel when questioned as to whether a potential first time head coach would turn down a position anywhere.
