Kliff Kingsbury has pulled out of contention for the Saints job.
|
Re: Head Coaching News and Rumors
Smart move for Kliff. He probably already sees that Moore is likely the guy.
Plus he’s getting paid like a HC with the Commanders. |

Usually you'd need to make a payment on Onlyfans to see this many guys pull out at once.

If I were Mickey I would start a whole new round of interviews. Flores, Freeman, Riley, monken.

Brian Flores is not really an option. He is suing the league. It is well known in league circles that any team that hires him will mysteriously set a single season record for enforced penalty yardage against them. |

It's almost like a girl inviting a guy to come over for dinner.
He suddenly isn't hungry when he sees how filthy her kitchen is! I'm sensing a trend. It's not good. |
Re: Head Coaching News and Rumors
I don't know what to think about this to be honest..
I've watched a couple press conferences with Kellen Moore .. I sure hope I'm wrong if we end up with this guy, but he just does not look like a true leader to me. ... Maybe he's got what it takes but something is off imo.. Have to be able to get these guys to run through a brick wall and just by watching those interviews I would think twice about running to the store for that guy.. Somebody help sell this dude as a HC to me please.. Okay I went did some digging and found this... 🦅Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni gave his opinion on Kellen Moore possibly becoming next Saints head coach “Just can’t say enough good things about what he’s done here as our coordinator, how much I think of him as a play-caller and offensive coordinator,” Sirianni said on Jan. 10. “I think of him very highly as a person. A great man of character and everything he stands for. I think he would be — yeah, I should temper — a great head coach. I have no doubt in my mind.” #Saints #WhoDat https://saintswire.usatoday.com/2025...cowboys-lions/ |
Re: Head Coaching News and Rumors
Okay, what is worst case scenario here?
Is it, Rizzi is the only one who will take the job and we ride out 2 years of him as a coach until we are out of cap Hell and Gayle fires Loomis? Of course, as long as Loomis is in place, cap Hell will probably be the norm. Or is it, Moore takes the job, we get somewhat excited about the future only to watch the team get worse (which is ALWAYS possible) and we go through this again after a couple of seasons? Of course, there is the chance the new hire does well, the team gets out of cap Hell and becomes a contender again. I mean, there's always a chance... right? |

It feels like Weaver and Kafka, along with Rizzi himself, are the fallback candidates if Moore says no thanks. |

I have a feeling we have become the Browns. We are now not wanted by anyone.

Re: Head Coaching News and Rumors
This is probably Mickey's last major decision as Saints General Manager - for better or for worse...
|
Re: Head Coaching News and Rumors
Of the four remaining guys I would take Kafka. None of these 4 candidates excites anyone but the fact that Kafka would bring Martindale might be the clincher for me. And it seems that Kafkas past few years are similar to Payton’s before he came here. All things being equal I will take him over Moore

Is this guy available? Would be the first coach I would buy a jersey for. Goodell also cant punish you for what he can not understand.

I like his take
Despite short-term challenges, Saints are a solid long-term destination for a new coach https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profoo...or-a-new-coach |

The reality is that Florio is no cap expert. He doesnt understand that much like Jerry Krause was a loser without Jordan and Knight, Loomis has never won without Brees and Payton. He also doesn’t understand that Loomis’s means of getting out of a cap mess has never been to rebuild, only to double down on aging injury prone vets with restructure, and that likely means Jordan, Hill, Kamara, Carr, Mathieu, Davis, Mr Concussion Olave, etc playing on the Saints until age 40 or beyond regardless of performance. Also, its easy to say that Kellen Moore cleared the field, but nobody knows Moore’s latest contract demands. Plenty of teams have a favorite they will most likely hire for coach but in no other cases have so many others backed out. Moore is in a position to demand $100 million if the Saints are out of other options. |
Re: Head Coaching News and Rumors

By the way, did you even read the article? Florio points out the very fact that you said he was ignoring when he wrote the following: "What do the Saints have? An owner who is patient and doesn’t meddle. A General Manager who has built teams that consistently contended, when they topped off the rest of the roster with a great coach and a great quarterback. While neither are easy to find, that’s arguably all the Saints are missing. And so they hire a first-time coach in Moore (like they did 18 years ago with Payton) and they find a quarterback, like they did 18 years ago when Drew Brees was a free agent and the Dolphins didn’t want him." |
