Restructuring is the best option for this organization. 8 million is just too much. There is nowhere Reggie can go in the league, and get the touches and opportunities to showcase his talents like he has in Sean Payton's offensive schemes. I believe Reggie knows that. His agent probably sees things very differently($$$). If he/they refuse to restructure, deal him for a 1+2 or a 1+3 and use the money to sure up or lock down some of the other positions. Sean Payton will find a way to do without him I'm sure. But he is nice to have in your back pocket.

what team would give us a 1 and 2 for reggie?

Re: 2010 - Keep or Cut Reggie Bush.

No team would. As many people from around the country have stated, Reggie is in a perfect situation with THIS team. He should take a pay cut to help his team out, but he won't. Which means next year at $8MM is probably Reggies last year with us.
Now if the Saints were to draft Dexter McCluster out of Ole Miss in the second round this year, then all bets are off. He's a Reggie Bush without the knee injuries or the high price tag.

I think he played well for us down the stretch. He was solid and sometimes spectacular. I like Bush and I would like to see him in black and gold for a long time. I know his contract doesn't fit his workload, but I hope they can work something out. I think it will be interesting to see what he does next season now that he understands that running north and south, then using his moves out in the open field past the line of scrimmage is the best way to run.

Here is a reason to keep Reggie around.

So we can get another one of these.

Nah McCluster is more of a Darren Sproles type. Reggie is actually big enough to be a bruiser if he had the intent.

Reggie wants to win another Superbowl.... his chances diminish substantially if he were to leave for another team. I think he'll eventually restructure his contract. There's also a chance the Saints trade him after his restructure. His contract right now is an obstacle to any kind of trade.

Re: 2010 - Keep or Cut Reggie Bush.

Simple math, he's not a bust....

Teams with Reggie Bush = 2 NFC Title games, 1 Super Bowl
Teams with Mario Williams =

Reggie has 4 years of good football still left in him.

I liken Reggie to Tiki Barber.
Look at the numbers...
Reggie in 4 years, 3800 combined yards and 32 td's
Tiki in 4 years, 3900 yards and 19 TD's.
The best is yet to come.

Probably nobody...start high and work our way backwards. We would be fishing, just trying to get someone to bite. Promote/highlight the all purpose yards and the TD's and see what happens.

Re: 2010 - Keep or Cut Reggie Bush.

reggie plays a huge part in payton's no#1 offense, with reggie out of the mix it would pay dearly. i see payton getting reggie the ball more in space in the seasons to come. theres so much you can do with him to keep the opposing defenses scratching there noggins. now that i told you that theres the money part. solong reg or restructure
