this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Well Manning won't be retiring any time soon. When about to be hit Manning always drops to the ground prior to the hit any way. He just needs to precieve he is going to be hit and down he goes. ...

Well Manning won't be retiring any time soon. When about to be hit Manning always drops to the ground prior to the hit any way. He just needs to precieve he is going to be hit and down he goes. I don't approve of saying you are going to try to take someone out of the game. Perhaps Gregg was referring to taking Manning our of his game. This is quite different then hurting him.

Re: Gregg Williams suggests the Saints want to injure Manning

Greg's comments -

"This guy's got a great clock in his head. The big thing is that he throws the ball so early that we're going to have to do a good job of finding ways to get to him and when we do get to him we're going to have to make sure he gets a couple 'remember me' shots when we get there."

"When you put too much of that type of worry on a warrior's mind, he doesn't play all out. If it happens, it happens. And the only thing you'd like for me to say is that if it happens you hope he doesn't get back up and play again."

I don't see what the big deal is about these comments - in the first paragraph he is complimenting Manning. In the second, that last sentence is a hypothetical statement, he didn't come out and say "We're going after Manning and our goal is to injure him". He just alluded that it could possibly happen - which is true of any QB in any game.

Comments are being taken out of context and regurgitated by people with IQ under 50 who have no better way to cover the Super Bowl now.

Folks have to buy into their spin for the spin to work... which you clearly haven't.

The Hater Nation can't stop Hurricane Who Dat.

Ask Warner and Favre bean how that worked out for them.

After our defense plants Manning's arse in the ground are you gonna
come back like the VyQueen fans and whine about how tough our
D is? Say it ain't so.

The trick is to admit it when you are wrong. Then you won't be so deluded. See you after the game in this thread. We shall see whose
pants are on the ground.

Defense wins championships. ALL that matters here is who Manning faces, not the Jets / Saints comparisons.

All these folks who say... "the other team would have one IF" are the delusional people. Period. No debate.

Would you care to back up that mouth with a wager? I usually go about a grand per bet. You up for that?
What's with the big tough guy act? Pretty funny actually when people flex their e-muscles over the net.

We'll see who's here after the game. I guarantee it won't be you. Anyway, I'll try and behave myself since this isn't a smack forum.

Hey Choupique, please check out the smack section after the game. I'll have a little surprise for everyone.

How dare you say gymnastics isn't a man's sport. It is just as dangerous as Football. I did a back somersault when Hartley made the field goal and my head went through my tv!

However, I think many here are completely delusional about your defense and their ability to get after Manning. My only comparisons to the Jets and Ravens were not in terms of a complete team, but in terms of their defensive units. Many here are confidently predicting the Saints defense to do things that those two better defensive units were not able to do. I really do hope that Gregg Williams does what he said he was going to try to do. That is when Manning is at his best and it opens up alot of things downfield.
porter and greer can lock down wayne and pierre gonad or whatever his name is..sharper playing center field combined with the fact that the colts dont run as well as we do means mannings getting hit or throwing int's...1 or 2 good hits(even if its a penalty)will settle him down and make him play like his brother sheli. goodwin, nicks, and evans will push that d-line of indys all over the field. Then the lb's are gonna have to get punished by bell and pt...then when they r tired reggies gonna make them look stupid..as for dwight freeny, he is not as good as jarret allen..how did allen fair against us last week?

perception IS reality

I am shocked that people think that highly of Porter. I watched him for a few years at IU and he didn't seem like much to me. Maybe it just looked that way because he didn't have any good players around him in college.

Saints by 50. I'm not sure the Colts will get a first down.
