As far as Murray is concerned, I could pull up various of reports on how the media criticized him and saying he doesn't have much to offer... prior to his breakout performances. The Cowboys made an effort to consistently give him the carries to get him in rhythm... the same cannot be said for Ingram. You can't just put the guy in for a carry or two, take him out for the next couple of series and then expect him to run wild over everyone. With that said, I do feel Ivory is the better option right now. We healthy and active, we make a conscious effort to feed Ivory the ball play after play. Ingram just doesn't have the instincts, vision, and opportunity to be an every down effective back which people are clamoring for him to be right now. |
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.
All little common sense goes a long way. |

Ingram moves the ball forward and he's only lost one fumble that I remember. I haven't seen him stutter-stepping in the backfield like Rashard Mendenhall or some other RB wearing #25 that used to play here. And he's had many runs where he has broke tackles and fell forward for 5-6 yards where he should've only picked up 1 or 2 yards. His pass protection and catching the ball has been adequate when called upon, at least for a rookie. I think eventually he will break off some 40+ yard power run for a TD, the law of averages has been working against him so far.
My final point is - if you were a coach, what would you tell him that he's consistently doing wrong? I can't come up with anything. |
