Well, let's hold San Diego up as a model front office of how the Saints should pay their guys! San Diego's front office are after all, a model team whose front office the Saints should try and emulate, right? Right? They never overpay anybody, keep every free agent they need to, and every trade they make out there in San Diego turns out golden for the team, right? Right?

...if he's got any hands at all... and Colston has pretty good hands.
There is a number, and the Saints front office has a range. They won't overpay. If Colston can't live within the salary box the org. sets, we'll be watching him snag balls elsewhere, and that's fine. I just believe that the Payton/Brees scheme and skill set can work to make average look good, good look great, and make great look even greater. |
