An unemployed veteran coach familiar with our system would be nice to bring in. I just can't think of any right now. Perhaps Spags takes over as HC, and lets Carmichael run the offense. Either way, we have some decent options that can work. |

Can't agree will Marlboro man any more about Goodell he will be the begining of the downward turn in the NFL. Also about our troops our government should not allow these guys to do multiple tours under the conditions they are in they are to blame. I will stop because this is probably not the right forum for this.

You see, this is what I'm talking about. You don't know what, the Saints admitted to. Neither do I, but you can bet they admitted to having a "Pay for Play" system in place, but not a PAY FOR INTENTIONALLY INJURING A PLAYER, system. There's a difference. The league is punishing the Saints for intentionally trying to injure players and that's what I don't believe they can prove.

Look, I hate Goodell as much as the next guy. I think he's been on a power trip ever since he took over and has made the game worse. But, I really think some people are overreacting to the penalties, that our season is now over. Look, it stinks that Payton will miss a year but we got the players and coaches to overcome it. I'm sure Payton expected some sort of penalty so he's been working on the playbook. Carmichael and Payton will be working together a lot in the next 2 weeks to get everything on the offensive side ready. We all know Carmichael can handle the play calling for the offense as we saw last year. I think Spags should be named interim HC, he's an intense guy who will have us ready week in and week out. I also think he's a good coach who just had a really bad roster in St. Louis. I still think the offense will be elite and our defense will be better with Spags.
Losing two 2nd rounders isn't the worst thing that could have happened, I was expecting worse. Loomis not being suspended to until September isn't bad. Most of the team is built from now until August. He'll leave the roster in fine hands before he starts his suspension. The Saints need to get Drew a long term deal now. This will show the rest of the league that we're moving on and it will look good to other free agents considering coming the the Saints. I have a feeling this was Condon's plan all along; wait for the punishments and hope the Saints react by improving their offer. I'm glad the punishments have been announced. Payton should appeal but regardless of the outcome I still like our chances this season. Have faith Saints fans! Who Dat! |
