Dallas had the same article posted about them when Wade was fired and Garrett took over. They interviewed someone in house, with no problem. I don't see why this is newsworthy..

As an owner, you have the right to do what you want with your team, including hiring who you want...

And if that means you don't want to hire a minority - you have that right, even if it means denying yourself some very talented men who could help you get your team to a good place...

Eventually, you'll find yourself all alone...

... as much as Herm made a mockery of an NFL HC position and is now making a mockery of a TV sports analyst, he should know a thing or two about mockery...

Pretty stupid argument by Edwards (then again...)

First, the Saints don't need a coach, they need a 9-month media handler who's going to deflect attention media attention from Spagnuolo and Pete.

Second, and I posted this over at the Revolution,I understand the point of giving minorities a chance to interview even if only for the benefit of them getting some experience in the interviewing process, but in the case of the Saints, what experience can anyone gain for interviewing for the interim HC position that one can use in future interviews? The interview is going to go something like:

Loomis: "OK, Mr. Minority Candidate, we have had the #1 offense for the past 6 years, how exactly are you not going to interfere with Pete, Drew, and the rest of the offense?"
Mr. Minority Candidate: "Well, the playbook.."
Loomis: "Yeah, no, you don't touch the playbook. Matter of fact, you don't even get to look at it from a distance, since most likely Atlanta will hire you next year in a fruitless attempt to figure out how to stop this juggernaut."
Mr. Minority Candidate: ... well.. I am more of a defen..."
Loomis: Yeah, no... Spags is here and we already gave him the keys to the City of Defense.. Well, thank you for coming in today to talk to us. I sincerely hope you can use this experience in the future when there's another 1-year interim HC position for a SB contender with the best offense in half a decade. Have a nice day... oh, and please, on your way out, ask Mr. Parcells how he likes that new leather massage chair we put in the corner office and let him know we got his favorite pen in blue ink as he requested to sign this contract. Thanks again!"

It's foolish to expect a minority to interview even when you know who your next coach is already. Don't think I'm being racist I'm not. "I'm a realist not a racist."

First off, the Rooney Rule itself is racist. Why should anyone HAVE to interview a candidate strictly off of skin color instead of merit & past job performance??? There are great coaches of all race, color, & creed. GM's should not have to entertain the notion of forced interviews with coaches based on skin color.......period!

I thought the minority rule was that no big name, proven coach can coach the Saints as part of the punishment. I am so obsessed with the punihsment. It seems everything revolves around the punishment and to make sure, by any means nec., the Saints fail. Fail. FALL!!! FAIL and FALL!!!!!!!
I read further, oh, minority minority.
I am not going there. No energy here.

Parcells issued a statement he wasn't interested.

Who? That is the question.
