Without all those turnovers we do win the game. That's not his fault. I think he did a good job considering the talent he had to work. He committed to putting pressure on Smith and it worked much of the game. Was it great, no, but it was more than enough IMO. Putting his whole career with the Saints on that one drive is extremely critical. He helped us win a lot of games with a bunch of C- to B players and when coach asked him to get the D nasty he did exactly that.

Then instead of LEARNING from the mistake he made the first time HE DID IT AGAIN! I'm sorry but.....it just makes me so angry that Brees had 2 of his defining moments (you can't tell me that those last 2 TDs wouldn't have been on his HOF highlight reel) pissed away by his DC.
Yeah I remember vividly, I was at work running around like a maniac trying to get my work done and get back to where the big screen was to see the end of the game (I had to go in right at the start of the freaking fourth quarter) and was able to see us come back twice only to have stupid hair Williams brain fart away everything.

All of us, co-workers and customers alike just went dead silent in disbelief. It seemed like he wanted us to lose. Why else would you leave their ONLY good receiver one on one on TWO consecutive drives with the season on the line?

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

I'm sorry...can someone please refresh my memory how many players we injured in that game. There were SO MANY, a girl can't keep track. Gosh, we really put a hurting on them, didn't we?

And the reporter who taped it...

"Pamphilon, who watched the Saints-49ers game from the New Orleans sidelines, said he doesn’t believe Williams’ speech translated into any actual harm to San Francisco players.

“I was two feet behind the Saints’ bench,” he said, “and it looked like they were trying to kill each other every play. But I’ve watched about 15 NFL games from the sidelines, and I didn’t see anything different in that game than I’ve seen in any other football game. To me, they’re all trying to separate guys from the ball and all trying to get big hits that land them on ‘SportsCenter’ – on every play.”

Saying you are going to do something and actually doing it are entirely two different circumstances. I'm still waiting for anyone to show a specific play where it actually occured.

3 points I’d like to make about that recording is...

1.)Never was there mentioned that incentives would be given for those hits.

2.)GW was right, all the defenses that are respected in the league earned their respect by making “dirty” hits and not apologizing for them! Thats encouraged by the NFL,thats the character of the NFL and that’s Goodell’s responsibility to change that general consensus view. Also you couldn’t convince me that GW is the only DC that encouraged(s) a hard and physical defense and speaks like that to his players, but really it’s more of a league problem, because the NFL is supposed to be monitoring these so called “dirty” hits we've been making and fine them.

3.)And that brings me to my last point. Where are the big hits? Where are the cart offs? Where are the knock outs?!?!?!? In-particularly the 4Whiners game. The only big hits that could be even remotely viewed as dirty were hits made by the opposing team! I’m not condoning dirty hits, but I would bet 80% or more of DCs tell their players the same thing before a game to get them pumped up,more hot air than anything else. If anything Goodell needs to be suspended for allowing such a crappy officiating system to be in place and not doing a better job of tightening the rules to eliminate “dirty” hits!

This is going to hurt GW more than the Saints, the timing of the leak of this video doesn't help the appealing process going on today but the only person you hear is GW so hopefully they have some kind of answer that throws him under the bus even more. I'm still waiting to see what hits lead to any major injuries

I still cringe every time I see any 49er highlights from that game on NFLN, what bother's me is that this arrogant, loud moron cost this team another championship

I don't understand what matters about this at all. He didn't mention any money. We sucked defensively. If our goal was to take out Vernon Davis, they should all be benched. Sean wasn't on the tape from what I could tell. And finally, he talked about the "head" metaphorically more than anything. He mentioned ACL (that's bad) but the concussion thing was nothing. As long as we're withing the helmet-to-helmet rules, we should have been good. And the ACL is just to scare them.

At the end of the day, we were obviously the weaker team on defense. And the timing of this audio could only help. Its an obvious and desperate attempt to make this worse. Goodell might be a dbag, but he's not stupid. He should be able to recognize that this was leaked or posted today for a reason.

True Dat ... as if the wording was to be taken in its most literal sense! In these times of P.C., this kind of rhetoric tends to be overblown.
