I dont know if this has ever been covered, But I question what kind of stats does Ryan have when he has had to throw 25-30 times a game or more? I know I have seen some games like this and I believe his Comp % is somewhere in the 50s, dont quote me on that though. With that said, I think some players are playing short a full deck of cards to, most people was ready to say Roddy White is a top WR in the NFL, I am not even sure hes the top WR on his own team. This is an argument I have made over time as it relates to the Julio Jones draft choice now. The argument is this, why did they draft Julio Jones when Roddy White is pretty much the same breed as Jones? You dont hardly see White as a route runner, hes a down field Gunner, every play you see him make is this with the exception being the red zone on some occasions, this is why Tony G has so many TDs though, because no one but him gets open in the red zone, but this is what they drafted Julio Jones for was a gunner, which made absolutely no sense, now you got 2 deep threats and a QB who cant throw over 40 yards. I dont know who their other WR is, I guess its Harry Douglas, hes someone who has done nothing outside his Rookie season. If Tony G declines or decides to hang it up, they are in deep doo doo. |

Re: Atlanta game
Mike Nolan is the son of Dick Nolan, doesn't surprise me that he leaves defenses worse than we he found them, he will never be the answer in Atlanta. If you're gonna hire the son of an NFL coach, hire a Lombardi like we did. 'Nuff said.

Harry Douglas is actually a good route runner. We saw some very good flashes of brilliance last year by him.

Re: Atlanta game
I saw some great improvement of our defense two days ago. We finally got a better pass rush and some better pass coverage.

Re: Atlanta game
You Saints fans are the only people who weren't impressed. I'm not going to spend much more time trying to make you think the Falcons are not like they were last year. I guess we're going to have to show you in week 9 this season how much we've improved.

You may have improved, but so did we... That makes us both better but still the same, and since we have won 10 of the last 12, I don't see much change... Now if we had not improved immensely that might not be the case Hell we improved while making your LBs weaker... |

Re: Atlanta game
I dont know how much Atl has improved.
I just know I wouldnt put much stock into 1 preseason game. I was watching some of the early highlights of the Atl/Bal game though, I dont think Baltimore was really prepared to start out that game, they wasnt the Defense we are use to seeing out of the Ravens, plus on the JJ TD, where was Ed Reed? BENCH. Otherwise that would of been an INT. |

Re: Atlanta game
Are you sure you guys wanted Spags because last time I was here it was alot of Mike Nolans fans here. Even saw this on the other Saint board.
Who would you want as the Saints' next defensive coordinator? - SaintsReport Community Forums You guys dont have a pass rush, the only time Spags ever had one was in NY with elite pass rushers. Mike Nolan had a top 10 D with 8 rookies I believe and they were one of the best last year on 3rd down. |

Re: Atlanta game
Quotes from some Saints Fans
"Mike Nolan, no question. He is the best available, and he would work well with our current personnel." "I was on the Mike Nolan bandwagon before the Saints hired GW and I'm still on the Mike Nolan bandwagon. " "nolan but i'd be happy with either of your other choices, honestly " "Before the mention of Nolan I was kinda leaning towards Del Rio. But now I think Nolan is the obvious heir apparent " "Nolan first, than Spags. " We hired Mike Nolan and than you guys got Spags the next best thing its no reason to act like he's not a great DC all of a sudden when you guys wanted him. |
