Good point, although I have mixed feelings about that. On one hand, you take the best player on the board over and over and eventually you end up with superior talent.

But teams like Pittsburgh and Baltimore draft players that fit their style (scheme, system, personality or whatever) and they stay competitive year in and year out.

One thing I noticed is we don't really draft for system. Martez Wilson was a MLB that some said could be a stand up DE/OLB in a 3-4. He wasn't really a great fit for our system.

Cam Jordan makes a fine LDE, but many have suggested he's probably better suited for a 3-4 DE.

We brought in Franklin last year who did well as a 3-4 NT, and tried to make him a 4-3 DT.

David Hawthorne was a MLB, we sign him to play outside.

I'll be disappointed if we decide to stick to a 4-3 yet sign/draft a tweener best suited for DE/OLB in a 3-4.

It may be time to narrow the focus a bit and identify some players that fit our scheme and our needs. We just need to be careful and not reach for a need.
