this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Not seeing nearly the red on the D side of things you are jeanpierre. Ain't it great to have some new stuff to argue about?...

Well the red indicates concern, that's not to say it won't work out nicely...
We've got some people playing new positions and we will need to temper our enthusiasm accordingly... Greer's money is guaranteed; he should be traded for a pass rusher to a team in need of a quality cornerback... |

Re: Saints Depth Chart 2013
Should Robinson do better in Ryan's scheme which by all indications will be a press-style coverage as opposed to a zone coverage which favors Greer's skill set, then Greer would be expendable...
Teams running a zone coverage system would need to be identified for depth at a position of need for the Saints - Why wouldn't value be found?!? |

Greer was frustrated with injuries this past year - i.e. sports hernia, pulled groin, and a concussion... Greer is a fine defensive back, but his skill set, physical attributes, experience would be better suited to teams with zone coverage... Teams that have run zone of late were 49ers, Steelers, Chiefs, Packers, Bears, Tampa, Colts, Vikings... If we're looking for ways to increase the room under the salary cap - then explore creative ways and better fits for both the Saints and players who'd have better situations elsewhere... And, without a doubt, Patrick Robinson has been given yet another opportunity to show he can be a success in this league with a new DC and scheme... I for one have not been happy with the production of first round selections by the Saints... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Temper my enthusiasm? The birds are singing, the sun's shining, everything's turned green, the forest fires have yet to ignite. Until further notice my middle name's Pollyanna!

Harper is cap carry over safe plus Vacarro has yet to play Strief i say IR safe. All our OT's have long iR history. Jr. i still do not see how he fits in but the contract extension means some one thinks they have a plan. Hartley i put as the #1 hot seat candidate. never the same after the hip injury Will Herring and Chris Chamberlain are on my hot seat list |
