I guess I'm not watching the same games you are. Our offensive staff seems to be able to put our team in the endzone a awful lot for not knowing how to use our players.

I liked the Ingram pick at the time but lets just face the facts he isn't getting it done for what ever reason but I highly doubt its the offensive staff that's the reason its not like there saying Hmm how can we make this play so Ingram run 2 yrds and falls down but its what happens to him a lot and I think it all on Mark

The way It read. It sounded like you were serious. I've been reading how you are defending Ingram so hard. I thought you were blaming the Offensive staff for his woe's

I kinda' chuckled at this reference to Reggie Bush where if you saw anything of the Lions game Sunday ... it was all Joique Bell, all day, :). Reggie's got speed, but Bell runs inside with authority, something I haven't seen a Lions backfield do in quite some time ... it was really a thing of beauty, <sniff>. With Reggie being out (injury), I just thought they coulda' substituted JB in there on that quote,.

I forgot to add that it does look like it's time for him to move on to another team ... no hard feelings, I like him & I wish he could do it in New Orleans, but it just ain't gonna' happen. There's just too much talent in the Saints backfield.

Detroit has two of our former running backs - AND THEY'RE THRIVING!

If Detroit traded for Ingram and he went off that would not kill me as bad as if it were Washington, New York, Other Kids from New York, San Fran, Pittsburgh, Chicago or (d'oh) Atlanta...

If Ingram is truly unhappy though, he needs to geaux...

But I don't like not having MUCHO DEPTH at RB...

I wouldn't go as far as to say "thriving"... And if we gain the one piece we need to make a Championship happen, do you really care where he goes?

Just because something isn't a good fit doesn't mean they are a bad player, or that we have a bad system. At ALL. A "bad fit" is not something that is personal.... But I am no Sean Payton.

I know, I've been luvin' it and pointing that out to Lion diehards around here scratching their heads wondering where the run game came from all of a sudden ... I tell 'em "New Orleans!",. I would love Detroit to pick up Ingram ... another home-town boy just like Joique Bell,.

Your run game is good and ours is almost non-existant. We do have some light in Robinson!!

... I disagree ... if you've followed the Lions run game post-Barry Sanders, and I don't blame you if you haven't, ;) ... what's been going on the first several games of the season could accurately be described as "thriving". I gotta' look back in the archives to find a guy that runs between the tackles like Joique Bell and actually gets across the line of scrimmage,.

Oak, Bush and Bell, compared to what they did in New Orleans are having better statistical performances, that's why I said thriving...

That doesn't mean what the Saints are doing is wrong, it's just a bad fit as you said...

Pretty much what many are saying about Ingram with the Saints...

TheOak 09-23-2013 09:23 AM

Re: Interesting RUMOR: Giants-Saints in Ingram trade talks - RUMOR

Here is my take.

Bell - Has zero stats with the Saints.. Pretty unfair to frame the statement that he is flourishing now and doing better with the Saints, when the Saints didn't use him. He was on the Saints team in 2011, should we have used him over Ingram, Sproles, or Thomas then? I do not recall anyone saying he should have been brought up from the practice squad over what we had.
Joique Bell Stats - Detroit Lions - ESPN
Joique Bell: Career Stats at NFL.com

Bush - We have had this comparison in the Ingram thread... Bush has not gotten any better since he left New Orleans, he has only managed to stay healthy. Neither his Yards Per Carry or his Yards Per Reception have been better than when he was in New Orleans. His ATT per Game is up and he is playing in more games because he is healthy. When you combine his Rushing and Recieving TDs in New Orleans, he scored more per season with us.
Reggie Bush: Career Stats at NFL.com

So, i suppose if you are going to define "flourishing" as staying healthy for Reggie, Ill agree... But he has not proven to be a better RB, just a more utilized RB. Reggie and the rest not being able to stay healthy is a part of the reason we carry so many these days.

An awful lot of people do not understand bad fit and want to make the peg fit instead of going with the correct peg. They take it personally.. Its not, its business. A wood screw is a damned good screw, I ts just not a goof fit for a carburetor.

Biggest problem with our run game are our offensive line; priority is without a doubt protecting the 20 million dollar quarterback; but we've also got to protect him with the run game...

When the rumor started over a Twitter post by some guy who got lucky before, I was skeptical...

But CBS Jason La Canfora, ESPN Mike Triplett - can't imagine these guys risking their professional credibility throwing it out there for nothing...

Question. I was at the game so I didn't watch, but did TV ever show any pictures of Ingram on the sidelines, or in the long sleeve T-shirt and coaching pants like injured players usually wear. On the sidelines.

It's very odd, unless someone comes up with some type of proof, I am not 100% convinced that Mr. Ingram was even with the team, or was even at the game on Sunday....very odd.

I had the DirecTv broad cast, but never saw Ingram. That should be framed with, I never saw K. Robinson and have not seen Cadet on the side lines either this season.

Hillis, a couple of years ago, would be awesome in this offense just don't know if he's in shape or still has enough speed to get it done...
