So are you saying the entire forum is out of line because some may really dislike ingram? Have you read a few posts that wish evil on ingram and assume ALL fans feel that way? If so, then I'm not sure your claims are justified.

I really do think our playcalling is predictable when ingram's in the game which is probably contributing to his failure but at the same time I see ingram being giving touches and him not producing off those opportunities. I call it like I see it. Other than hoping his PT gets cut, I wish him all the best in life.

Don't matter what we think of him as fans. It only matters what the ORG. feels. I'm also tired of talking about him tired of fighting with our fellow members over something we have no control over.

OK, but I'm not seeing anything said about Ingram that would provoke the use of the word "disgusting" to describe it.

Now, if you were on "that other board" when Brooks was QB, some of that was disgusting. But even that was the lunatic fringe, for the most part.

RB's arent like Qb's in their transition to the NFL ... Same concept , Same Philosophy , take the handoff , allow the play to develop , let your blockers get a hat on somebody , find the hole and get out ! Same exact thing as in college !

That's 2 Heisman winning Runningbacks in the Payton Era that we've wasted because we won't take a real look in the mirror at our Blocking for the Poor Guys. Instead we label them busts and let them waltz away.

We're too damn soft up front !!! Any physical team we play crushes and embarrasses us !

I wish Ingram the very best wherever he goes. Draft a Julio Jones or Something like that , we're not serious about running the ball.

Robinson was decent against guys that no longer have a roster spot , he's no savior either.

We've had a great tandem of guards for the majority of years Payton has been here and we've ranked top 7 twice in rushing. The excuses are getting old. There's something called accountability. Ingram is subjected to it as well.

These threads are not only getting old, but annoying as frick. It's a broken record... what is there left to discuss.

So are the Offensive lineman accountable for not blocking as well ? He only bends it outside because the inside has more defenders than blockers Period ! The Film consistently backs me up !

So not true. They need to develop as well. Seeing and reading the wholes take time... the game is faster they have to get use to the speed and learn to read the D and pick up blitz at that level. Not as much time as a QB but they still need to be developed.

Ingram's problem is this: He isn't a smart football player. He carried the ball in the wrong hand, he's a bit slow, and doesn't make the right reads and cuts.

That's an understatement , they actually couldn't do any worse for Ingram , Thomas and Sproles don't face stacked boxes because they pose a passing threat to the Defense ... Simple Football

So how do you explain the successful running backs? There are several backs that have played in the same system that have had plenty of success. Hell we signed Julius Jones off the street once, and even he managed 4 yards per carry. PT, Sproles, Bell, Deuce, Ivory....all successful in the same offensive system and behind the same offensive line.

It's time to stop making excuses for Mr. Ingram.

Any and everytime Ingram gets a hole , I've seen him take off. Lord it's been a while since he's gotten a hole !

So to sum up what the nay sayers want , You want Ingram to get the ball , Break an Immediate tackle during the handoff exchange , Outrun the defenders in his face , Find some sort of non existent hole and gain 5 to 6 yards every play ? THIS AIN'T MADDEN !!!

And The Success of PT and Sproles is only a tribute to the Passing Game. Rushing wise they are too average at best.

Now if you wanted to attack Ingrams one dimensional talents , then I'd readily agree , he'd see less stacked boxes if he could do harm in the flats

Then how about Ivory, who was never a threat in the passing game and couldn't pick up a blitz to save his life. Any time he was in the game the other team knew it was a run, and yet he still managed well over 4.0 yards per carry.

I have nothing to add to the hammering, as none of this is surprising to me. I'm just glad to see the majority of our fans are finally getting it. I couldn't take the excuses people were making up for him anymore.

"He gets better with more carries".
"The offensive line only blocks for the other backs".
"Last year he was overweight, but this year he's lighter on his feet".

At some point, if you are actually a capable runner, you have to be able to overcome whatever circumstances you have. Be it the system, the blocking, or whatever. When you are consistently awful and your teammates are all out producing you, the fact is that you are just not good.

No one made those excuses.

Some say he needs more carries, not that he gets better with carries. No one knows if he gets better with more carries or not.

Many agree the blocking is awful when he gets the handoff, even his detractors agree with that. No one said the O-line only blocks for other backs. Watch more football sport.

And no one said he was over-weight last year, only that this year he appeared to be in great shape. Pay attention, it helps.

My mom lives in Ville Platte, she sends me king cake every year.

But I miss the spicy fried chicken from Coop's on Decatur, the praline bacon and pastrami at Elizabeth's, a roast beef poboy from Mother's with all the grease and drippings you can pile on it, shrimp poboys from Toms Fried Chicken in Bayou Chicot. Even Popeyes and Raisin Canes. Stuff you can't put in the mail. Needless to say my intinerary next month consists of a week of eating 5 meals a day and then Saints vs. Bills if I'm not in the emergency room with a heart attack. :)
