this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Called Charles Brown for a miniscule hold -- but didn't call the hold on Junior on the final pass play of the game. How can we get our own refs?...

Re: These refs have it out for us.

-The refs were horrible today from start to finish. They were so bad the game looked rigged.
-The Saints had 3 chances to get a first down and close out the game. They failed.
-The clock management and playcalling is bad at times. Today it was worse than most games.
-Robinson needs to be worked into the passing/screen game during the bye week. He brings "it" to the running game and needs more playing time while being less predictable.
-The Pats just gave the NFL a blueprint on stopping/slowing down the Saints. Get physical with Graham and Colston.
-Moore needs to get healthy and Meachem, Stills and Toon need to step up and be consistent.
-The Saints D played better without Bunkley. Rotation yes. Starter no.
-Greer letting the WR get behind him in the end zone with 10 seconds left was a horrible play.
-The Saints are 5-1 and in the grand scheme of things, the loss today might turn out to be a good thing. Lots of teaching and motivation can now be applied for two weeks.

I agree with all of this minus one part. Kenny Stills was excellent today, it isn't his fault that Drew chose to throw 6 passes to Jimmy in quintuple coverage, Stills caught all three passes thrown his way, and scored what could have been the winning TD, had the offense done anything at all in the last 3 drives. Meach and Toon both had costly drops and need to step up in the clutch when our other weapons are bottled up. Belichick decided that we were going to have to beat them with our 3rd and 4th WRs, and they let us down.

Maybe it was just me. Maybe it's my extreme homerism. I thought that the refs were blatantly had it out for us. They seemed to be in favor of helping the Pat's out. It was either rigged, or those refs were blind.

Either way, good win for the pats, even if it was by cheating.

+ Why wasn't Sproles a defenseless player on one of the later drives? Looked like the Jenkins hit.

Re: These refs have it out for us.

I dont think there is any doubt the ref calls cost us this game, but that is hardly the issue. Our offense needs to start up again, and stop making these games close. I mean we dont have the defense excuse anymore. Defense is playing ok for the 1st time ever.

Of course, we can just kick the everlasting ---- out of the Pats to where the zebras are not even a factor. Like my grandpaw always said: "Only losers whine about the refs." Conspiracy or not, we shall overcome.
Well Nostradamus, you were right that we should have blown 'em out to keep the refs from being a factor, nearly did it; but now we know we can't let the refs be a factor...

Re: Refs: Home Cooking?

Since 2009, he’s worked one New England game per season — all of them wins for the Patriots. - per WEEI (An Over the Top 24/7 Sports Talk, News Station in New England)...

It Is What It Is » Report: Tony Corrente will work as referee for Patriots-Saints
