Overall, Hurst does well against speed-rushers, though he doesn't make a big impact as a run-blocker.*

Hurst had a quality 2012 season blocking on the ground for Giovani Bernard and in pass protection for Bryn Renner. It was Hurst's third-straight good season for the Tar Heels, and the junior could have warranted early-round consideration if he had entered the 2013 NFL Draft.*
