Suit yourself. Our supposedly top tier offense did not score a single point for three whole quarters. Our elite tight end was completely manhandled and neutralized. We fumbled the ball on our own 20, with no one even touching the guy who fumbled, Marshawn went Beastmode on us AGAIN for a TD, our punter bobbled the ball like a kid in pee wee and kicked a 19 yard punt, and you weren't embarrassed? Like I said, suit yourself.

If you were embarrassed by that game, I would hate to be around you regularly because you must be the most negative person on earth. We were never down by more than 2 scores and yet you act like we lost by 30. Have some pride in yourself and your team. This was a good season, stop trying to make it into something bad.

Re: It's become very apparent

Did I refer to any saying we needed thugs ? Negative ... I said there is a clear drop off of talent when playing physical teams ... We are soft , and what they say about us is apparent and true ... From the gate we are in damage control mode against physical teams and it shows , we play different , we play intimidated

I say physical and automatically think of thugs ? Give me a team of physical freaks you can keep the finesse offense because against the cream of the crop it don't work !!!

We had like a 5 game lead in our division and lost to a team we had no business losing to because they play with a chip on their shoulders ( Carolina ) ... And your going to tell me were just fine ???

Blasphemy !!!!

there's a couple of teams with physical freaks sitting on the couch right next to us, and I be damned if it ain't the team you said is better than us. We actually are just fine... A stop against Carolina, and a call against New England and you would be singing a different tune....

The conservative way of thinking has served us well in developing players that weren't immediate eye openers at first. But our lack of talent is very apparent when playing top-level competition. No matter which way you spin it as of right now we don't have the personnel to compete with the Patrick Willis's of the world nor the Richard Sherman's nor the Aldon Smith's. In the past we have moderately pursued talent that fell to us this time around keeping Brees's clock in mind we need to aggressively pursue weapons.

We need to quit being so doggone nice and start besting folks so bad the talk about running up the score becomes a problem again.

Trade up , sign superstars let's make some darn noise !
You've got it all backwards. They didn't get where they are today because they've spent the most money or traded up in drafts, they've done so by being able to develop the players they've drafted and creating a system to get the most out of their players.

Re: It's become very apparent

Both the 49ers and Seachickens have young QB's that cost them under $500,000 which allowed them to signed talent on defense. Once these rookie contracts are done or they start holding out for new deals, the money will disappear for the defensive talent they have now. By the way in that game yesterday niners probably lost Bowman for 2014 with torn ACL which will make their defense a lot softer and I would bet some seachickens jump ship for bigger pay after the superbowl.

Not disagreeing, just making some valid discussion points.

We are not in a cap situation to sign superstars unless you are willing to part with Graham?

When you say Brees clock... Manning and Brady both have a couple of years on Drew, do either look like their clock is about to expire? I would say they each have 3+ years left so that would put Drew around 4-5 years left on his clock.

As far as for the apparent because of this year, Seattle is about to be extremely hard up against the cap with free agency. Look at SFs free agents in 2015
San Francisco 49ers Free Agents - 2015

Every year someone wins the Superbowl and every year teams that were in the final 4-5 teams fall off the radar... Falling off the radar will happen to both teams in the next 2 years.

I think we do.

San Francisco 49ers vs. New Orleans Saints - Box Score - November 17, 2013 - ESPN

I think the team could use some tweaking but no reason to blow anything up right now.
