Our record against superior teams reflects and solidifies my logic ... Where is your proof ? I am usually the optimistic type but we're going to waste having a franchise hall of famers sweet prime years by lying and keep on telling ourselves were Elite ...

Jimmy is elite until Sherman or Talib or Revis gets a hold of him ... Then what ?

We're soft and easily intimidated on the road ( which ironically is when it counts )

You cannot dismiss my arguments as typical crap when this much evidence supports what I am saying ...

Cameron Jordan is the closest thing we have to a true elite player on either side of the ball ... Argue with that bubba

We can easily turn the corner. Armstead helped tremendously. Our D is great and nothing really needs to change there. The offense needs to be able to run the ball. In the years our offense was extremely successful we were able to run the ball well (09 11). We are very close to having a great running game again, and I think you could see that at the end of the season. Robinson can be a beast and Ingram started to come on nicely at the end of the season (playoffs included). Moving into 2014 I think we have the makings of a great team again; what really matters is Payton's willingness to give Robinson the ball more and change the playbook a bit (we need some new looks).

We don't need to mold ourselves into another team.

Where did you hear in the past two season anyone call us elite... Were a good team.... But here's a quick news flash..... There are no Elite teams in the NFC!!!!

Jimmy is elite until Sherman or Talib or Revis gets a hold of him ... Then what ?
LOL... Then it's up to us to make them pay for that... the problem is the tight end is our best player..... This is an issue that can be resolved!!!!
We're soft an easily intimidated on the road ( which ironically is when it counts )
You have heard so many people say this you've started buying into it.... Wake up... A refs call we win in New England... A stop we win in Carolina... and those were just the close ones... you hoist a championship on those two W's......

LOL I can because that's what it is... No evidence supports a 7-9 team with a 4 game improvement being called soft.....

But you started this year with no elite players on Defense... BTW I think #28 Keenan Lewis is another elite player and he's on the squad as well.....

You shouldn't throw stones if you live in a glass house, and if have a glass jaw you should watch your mouth..... cause I'll break your face!!! -50 cent

Regardless if the tone is half-doom or half-lollipops & rainbows, I believe no one can argue that in no way can we sit on our laurels...

We have some pretty special players and we just need to add some quality supporting cast...

Problem is we've got alot of money tied up in players that are limited or in a quarterback, though he's been elite, is definitely on physical decline years and has stated he'd rework contract, though not necessarily taking a pay cut...

For instance ... Do you think we could've won in Green Bay or Carolina as the niners did ? Haha we've never done either with this current " elite " team we supposedly have ... That Green Bay loss sent us to San Fran

That carolina loss sent us to Seattle ... Where we ... You guessed it , got bullied around again in an embarrassing fashion

Embarrassing fashion?!? I disagree. We played them to the last play of the game. We had 25 first downs to their 13. We had 409 yards of offense to their 277. And we put up 300 yards on the air against the "Legion of Doom". I'm not saying they didn't deserve the win. They did. They made the plays when they needed to, the Saints didn't. But, in my opinion, no way did we get "bullied around in an embarrassing fashion."

And also, in my opinion, we were just as physical as they were. Their receivers checked out of the game after the big hits early on. They had only 9 receptions for the entire game. Their D line did a number on our offensive line but ours did the same to them. Also, Terron Armstead was a monster. He dominated Chris Clemons and Red Bryant all game long. We rushed for over a hundred yards against them on 4.2 yards per carry, which is higher than their season average allowed.

There's not a doubt in my mind that had that game been played in New Orleans, the Saints would've won by two scores.

Yes I do. Green Bay was not good, and Carolina would have had to play us again with an improved Armstead and the fact that they were playoff virgins.

Can we merge this with the basketball player-turned-HOF-wide-out thread?
