Mark Ingram rushes for career-high 172 yards in win over Packers
New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram had never carried the ball in an NFL game as many times as he did against the Green Bay Packers in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Sunday night.
The fourth-year pro rewarded the Saints for those 24 rushing attempts in a huge way: with a career-high 172 yards and one touchdown as New Orleans routed Green Bay 44-23 to improve to 3-4. Ingram got 124 of his ground yards on 14 carries during the third and fourth quarters as the Saints outscored Green Bay 28-7 to blow what had been a 16-16 halftime stalemate wide open. It was only the second time Ingram had eclipsed the 100-yard mark since entering the NFL as one of the Saints’ first-round draft picks in 2011. The only other time he had done that was during a memorable 49-17 pummeling of the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in the 10th week of the 2013 season, when Ingram rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. “We were just clicking,” Ingram said afterward. “They did a great job of just getting a push off the ball and creating seams for me to run through and just be able to run hard — all credit to the line. Without them, nights like this aren’t possible.” Read more: Mark Ingram rushes for career-high 172 yards in win over Packers | Saints | The Advocate — Baton Rouge, Louisiana Video: Video: Saints running back Mark Ingram credits his line for his career game against Green Bay | Saints | The Advocate — Baton Rouge, Louisiana |

All this talk about Khiry Robinson being the next Curtis martin
I think Ingram has proved he's out best runner this season, sign him to an extension! |

If anybody has earned money, it's Ingram. Fans put him to the test and he has responded. He showed up Eddie Lacey last night. He brings intensity every down. Pay da man!

Don't put Khiry down until you see what he can do with 24 carries in a game. Yards are good and all but TD ' s are better. ,I'm glad to see Mark finally have his 3rd good game in years but what we need is consistency

I've backed Ingram since the beginning....I've always knew he had the talent to be a really good back. Just keep in mind the Packers have a 31 ranked run defense. He should be running like that against them. But yes, he was really fun to watch last night!

I often wonder if that 5th year option/ decline from the Saints front office brass has Roll tide running with a vengeance and 'chip' on his shoulder for 2014?
One thing I can say is that you will never question his heart and desire. |

Keep it in perspective; Packers D is not very good. I do think Ingram needs to see more 20+ carry games, he gets rolling and is no doubt the best RB we have. Might not be a bad idea to get away from the RBBC for awhile.

I mean I don't know of why people do this, and you are right. You attack the defenses weakness. It is true that running opens everything up, but if you are not successful at it, like we weren't against Detroit you have to pass and use the run just to keep them honest. Like you said- everything in context

So happy for Mark Ingram. We all saw it. He ran like a pro last night. Credit to the Oline, playcalling and his running. Thing of beauty to see it.
