We need another dependable CB opposite lewis, I don't know why the FO thought a 37 year old or a guy that's played the position for a year were capable of being that.
It says a lot about SJB when coaches jobs are on the line, playoffs are within reach, and CB is the most glaring weakness on an historically bad defense, and 2 guys we pulled off the street get extensive playing time and not only does SJB not play, he's not even active on gameday.

He must be gawd-awful. I rarely use the word bust about a young player, but I can't remember a better candidate for the bust label over the last 10 years.

I do remember PFF pointed out that he had a few snaps, and gave up a TD on a blown assignment.

We coulda had Marcus Martin!!!

I don't know what to think here!!
1. Either he's a suprize super-star waiting to be unvailed next season.
2. Slower than expected progess like JR. did
3. Secondary coach might not know how to get him there.(I'm leaning hard this way)
4. No talent what to speak of(I don't think this, kid has tools)

Or perhaps he doesn't know where to be and when, and is so raw he hasn't master CB techniques, which are numerous.

IIRC CB is one of the hardest positions to master technique wise in the NFL along with QB and WR.

I'm just hoping that the talent is there, he just happened to be much more raw than the coaches originally thought.

Could at least get a look at him in man-to-man.I'm still leaning on the secondary coach.Scheme, I see your point.

I don't know, PT sat most of his rookie season even though he was obviously a better option than Bush, who stunk between the tackles and Stecker who was old and breaking down. The one game he got substantial playing time he killed it.

I think what happens is the coaches set up a "plan" for young guys and don't care to deviate from it.

That is a learned attitude, and maybe they don't see how he's going to learn it as the weakest link on a crap defense. the kid was a project anyway, there's no harm in taking your time with him. It's not like we need him out there trying to get a win.

Not saying SJB isn't a bust but that can't be determined unless he gets playing time.

I think it says more about this coaching staff's inability to develop defensive talent. No one questioned his physical abilities and CB is not incredibly difficult to grasp. He played very well in college but now he doesn't even know what a football looks like apparently.

SJB football IQ must be super low not to see the field. It this is accurate, quite disappointing especially to say where he was drafted.

Sick of us going for these "project" players because they MIGHT be half decent in 4 years time

Go for the NFL ready player!!!
