Also, we have started out 0-4 twice and turned around got to .500 only for us to play a trap game against St.Louis and a home game against strongly contending SF team. Say we get to .500 before the bye here is who we have after @Houston Carolina @Tampa Bay Detroit Jacksonville @Atlanta After Houston we have Carolina at home, TB, Detroit and Jacksonville at home. I believe if we are 5-5 going into the bye we could be 9-6 going into Atlanta the last game. However I actually think we could go into the bye at 6-4 if we win in Indy. |

Re: Saints restructure Drew Brees deal, push more cap hit to future
The key for me is if Drew really wants to win another SB title next year he'll pull the Tom Brady and take a salary well bellow market value, I seriously doubt he needs the money and really there are no other options.

We know Mickey won't clear it any other way. |

And, yes, I do have an accounting degree ... as does Loomis.

Re: Saints restructure Drew Brees deal, push more cap hit to future
This is a simple move. The cap is expected to rise by 17 million next year plus Brees will no doubt sign an extension to lower his cap and we need help this year. This is the only way to receive cap help. After 3 weeks this season isn't over.

Re: Saints restructure Drew Brees deal, push more cap hit to future
I don't have cap numbers handy at my disposal, and thus I obviously don't study all the numbers. But I'm guessing that when people we hear reports about cap issues for next year, it's because they factoring salary hikes along with the projected cap raise. And this deal is adding to that issue.
