I think they are both to blame.
However SP is on his 3rd DC in 4 years and his 4th during his tenure. Every year is becoming the same, we fall behind, we even it out and then for the rest of the season we'll succumb to mediocrity. |

Let's face it, even if we fire Rob Ryan we're not stumbling on some magical formula for our defense as long as Payton is coach and he forces his assistant coaches on our DC.

You had porter and greer at cb, solid you had will smith and charles grant and hargrove, solid then you had vilma, soild then you had harper and sharper, once again solid. They gave up a good bit of yards but the were good at rushing the passer and creating turnovers and scoring themselves on some those turnovers. This team we dont have no where near that kind of players to pull that out.
