Re: Fire Sean Payton

Maybe Payton doesn't want to be here. Not just the Saints, but the sh!thole of a program called the NFL. With all the changes and pathetic officiating along with bountygate and deflategate and god knows what else is going on behind the scenes that fans don't know about, maybe he's just done with all this. I don't blame him,Ive about had enough of it myself.

....or maybe he's a drug head alcoholic who's losing his mind. The funny thing is if we were a dominant team with a winning record and headed deep into the playoffs,we would all be sitting here singing Payton's praises about how great of a coach he is...despite whatever issues he has.Its a fine line.
I think its time for Payton to go and to be honest,I'm not scared about it. If we get a defensive minded coach with passion who can light a fire in these players and let Carmichael control the offense along with a GM who can draft,I think we'll be fine. Sean may go on to coach great for another team, but its apparent he's done here. We'll be wasting time and money keeping him around. We really shouldn't suck this bad. With the talent we have we shouldn't suck at all. I don't believe Payton is giving much effort to this team and I have a feeling some serious sh!t is going down deeper than we think. Just my 2¢.

I agree with a lot you said, but I do think we are going to extremes. There is something going on we dont know, I believe. Payton would normally never be happy with this or as complacent as he seems.
I do not want him as a opposing coach in our division. He will do well, and hurt our chances. SP when at his full is extremely dangerious.
I willing to him give a 1-2 seasons more IF he loses god powers, and has a GM boss. I agree SP is not spending the time. Like you said there could be many reasons.
I dont want to lose one of the best coaches in the NFL because we over react or it might be fixable.
Look if we go 9-7 next year and SB win 2017 people will think hes a god again.

Saints proved that pigs could fly in 2009.
Now its time for another miracle SuperBowl and go where no pig has gone before.

I think this is at least part sarcasm, but I hope it's full sarcasm. That name makes me want to puke.

We need to quit looking backward and start looking forward. That is a big part of the franchise's problem right now.

A good up-and-coming NFL defensive assistant would be a fine choice. I wonder if Belichick would let Matt Patricia interview for jobs. Also maybe a college guy could be good. Not a know-it-all like Greg Schiano but someone more like Bill O'Brien.

I dont think hiring a defensive coach as a head coach makes a bit of difference. We are still built as an offensive team and it would take yet another revamping to change that. Just because we have been sucking on defense does not mean we need a defensive minded head coach as I see posted over and over. What we need is a head coach who knows enough to take over offensive AND defensive play calling duties when his assistants arent getting it done.
Payton is dubbed an "offensive genius" but its obvious he knows abosolutely nothing about coaching defenses. There is no excuse for a head coach to let his defense get as bad as ours. He can blame it on staff all he wants but in the end he doesnt know what the hell is going on either.
We need a well rounded coach. Doesnt matter if he is an offensive or defensive coach but he better know how to call the shots on either side if he has to.

Our defense is dead last. That means Payton is not a good enough defensive coach to even get us to second to last.

The last thing we need to do is hire a defensive coach just for the sake of fixing our defense and wind up with the same problem just reversed.

Another thing, If Benson really did have all his facilities about him dont you think we would have heard something from him by now? At least an expression of dissapointment?

Good points. The next head coach needs to be well-rounded. And more importantly, he must hire quality assistants and hold them accountable.

And hold himself accountable at times.
Payton just looks to pass the blame whenever possible
