Just hope we are in the mix and a trade down is possible and grab some additional picks. Austin Johnson has always been a fav. he is the next Jarren Reed at DT his game speed and effort make the combine a mute point. Both are under valued, more upside as pass rushers than they are given credit for. Johnson has a clean rap sheet also unlike Reed who has had a few issues. He is as safe a pick in the 2nd as you can find. Cody Whitehair in the 3rd? some one is really missing the boat. better yet standing at the dock a day late with this one Joe Dahl is a player that if he drops into your lap in the 5th then make the move. He is not an over reach for player in my book. not bad but in the fourth they will be better options on the board. He reminds me of Vic Beasley, under sized, fast but not very flexible. He leaves a lot to be desired against the run and dropping into coverage. He is a one trick pony with issues. Shaq Lawson hands down over this kid. His interviews have to be mind blowing for me to even consider him in the 3rd. |

NFL Draft: Medical re-checks confirm concern for Myles Jack, Jaylon Smith - CBSSports.com
As Deuce McAllister said, we can't afford to "redshirt" anyone... Take 'em off the draft board, move on... |

Especially with what Ed Werder reported..."teams are unsure when he'll see the field, but they believe he'll have a long NFL career" i would NOT pass up the opportunity to get a franchise player like i see in Jaylon Smith if thats the case. Jaylon at WILL, Anthony at SAM & Laurinaitis at MIKE next year would be lovely. Thats just my opinion.
With that said, i'd love to trade back in the first, even out of the first round to gain additional picks in the 2nd & 3rd & a 1st next year. Thats really where the meat of the draft is. I dont consider talent at 12 to be that much greater than talent at the end of the 2nd/early 3rd. Im thinking Chess not checkers. Saints still have holes & the schedule isn't going to be a cake walk. |

This team is anemic on defense and unfortunately we aren't close to sniffing a championship this season. If he is still on the board by round 3 (highly unlikely he is still here), draft him. I keep hearing that the draft is all about the future, no ? |
