Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............
Eagles are rumored to have a deal in place with the Browns to trade up to #2 and the Chargers are actively shopping the #3 pick as well. I think we're gonna see lots of moves in the 1st round... Including us because our options at 12 absolutely suck.

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............
Given how the draft went last year I'm going to take a stab at who I think Ireland picked out. Last year Ireland picked players from Stanford, Clemson, Washington, FSU in the first three rounds. Given the concussion issues, it should come as no surprise Swann played for Georgia a school that really hasn't had many defensive players recently translate to NFL.
1.Either Lawson, Robinson, or Jack is the pick. Jack is at the top here, and Robinson and Lawson is a pickem. 2.If he's available and saints go Lawson or Jack round 1 I believe this Clark will be the pick. Possibly the first two picks could be from the same school. Odds are though that won't happen with Ireland. Otherwise if it is Robinson, I think it is Bullard from Florida. Possibly he could be paired with Jack. And Bullard is supposedly DT capable, and we do like hybrids. 3.If we don't go Jack in first this is where I could see it being Smith. Otherwise it's Washington from OSU. I could see the saints getting perhaps a second DT here if Bullard is not taken. 4.This is where guard comes into play. However it may be a OT. I believe BPA will be Kyle Murphy from Stanford if he falls to us. Otherwise I think it's McGovern. The other ones to be on lookout for is John Theus of Georgia and Avery Young of Auburn. 5.This will be a reach DJ Reader of Clemson. 6.Do we draft a receiver here? My first guess is CB, and it will be Brandon Williams from Texas A&M. If we get a receiver, it will be Ricardo Louis of Auburn as he fits the profile of a tall, physical receiver and he played for Auburn. I am not for all of these players btw. |

Here goes ladies and gentlemen.
Round-1 DeForest Buckner-DE- Oregan Falls in our lap. I would love Ramsey here more but redshirting him at pick #12 makes no sense to me. Round 2 Austin Johnson-NT- Penn State Round 3 Vadal Alexander-G-LSU Round 4 Denver Kirkland-G-Arkansas Round 5 DJ Reader-NT-Clemson Round 7 Kevin Byard-S-Middle Tennesse |

Jalen Ramsey Draft Profile Jaylon Ramsey has never played the same position at FSU. So despite being a 3 year starter at FSU he is still raw for the most part. This is why I would not be surprised to see him slip a bit in the draft. When was the last time you saw a safety drafted this high? That is exactly what this kid is. Can he become a CB at the next level that justifies top 10? not sold on that skill set just yet. Right now he is a starting SS with exceptional coverage and tackling skills in year one. He can be your back up FS with out loosing much sleep over really. Give him a year or two and he is you starting FS. At this point he is another Deone Bucannon. At 22 Deon was a steal. Top 5? top 10 maybe. Top 15 without a doubt. Jaylon Ramsey has perennial pro bowl FS written all over him. Byrd's replacements. |

As posted before, can't see spending a first round pick, let alone a high first round, on a two-down defensive lineman... When you invest that pick, you need to get maximum snaps, plays out of that player... What concerns me about Billings, Rankins is their size... At the pro-level almost every team now has big guards with long arms in blocking schemes to neutralize these bowling ball-types... Most effective nose tackles, interior linemen in today's games are long, mammoth types... I'd rather take a big (6'4"+, 285+ lbs) defensive end to bookend with Cam Jordan who can seal the edge, slide inside on long passing plays... Billings and Rankins remind me of former Sedrick Ellis; he'll just get rolled up and pushed outta the way... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

I think we stand to be a power broker for the next tier of talent in the draft. I like where we are sitting. |
